No, not Ruger...... (http://www.smileyx.com/smilies/2erOBh1.gif) ....But you thought it was, didnt ya?
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2009/07/19/saftey-warning-advanced-long-range-systems-als-50-bmg-ar-15-upper/
Advanced Long-Range Systems has identified a condition that may exist with the bolt supplied with the ALS 50 caliber conversion which may allow the gun to fire out of battery.
As all the facts are not yet in, and purely as a safety precaution, ALS is asking owners of its rifle uppers to suspend shooting this product until further notice.
It is our goal to provide safe and accurate products. We are currently working on a solution. Please, bear with us, it may take up to sixty days to complete this task. We will resolve this issue and make it right with our customers.
Once additional information is available, you can rest assured that it will be passed along on our website, in VHP Magazine, and the relevant firearms discussion forums.

Look, I love Ruger. I always have but.............WTF? Do these people not learn? The LCP, the LCR and now their $1500 wodergun. Have they not thought that more extensive (and expensive) testing might be a better investment than a rush to market that damages their brand rep? Honestly I can say for certain that I would not buy any new Ruger product unless it had out for a year or so. That is very sad and very avoidable. I hate it when the good guys are morons.

This is why if I buy a Ruger it will be more than 2 years after introduction.
Also when I do buy a Ruger it will most likely be one of their Revolvers.
Just reeled in another one. The fishing is great. ;D

Sad thing is that fishing trip or no, Ksail is right. Even if I had the money for one, I'd still wait a few months to buy. :-\

You obviously DID NOT read the whole first post . It IS NOT RUGER:

That's cool lets just put this in storage for a month or 2 and when Ruger does have to recall it for some reason we'll have it ready... hahah. I love my LCP now that its back from recall. So if it were to be recalled I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad thing.
-
Yikes! I need to check the traps more often. ;D
