Police: Fake officer tries to stop a real one

21-year-old convicted car thief allegedly had tricked out his Ford Crown Victoria
updated 7:28 p.m. ET, Sat., July 25, 2009

OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland police say a man impersonating a police officer tried to pull over a real undercover officer and was arrested.

Police say 21-year-old Antonio Fernandez Martinez of Oakland was arrested Wednesday in the Fruitvale district after trying to pull over an unmarked police vehicle. Martinez was driving a Ford Crown Victoria outfitted with flashing lights, a microphone and speakers.

Martinez, a convicted car thief, will have his felony probation revoked and could face a prison term.

No wonder California is broke, he should be planting beans on a prison farm,, arrested in Fruitvale no less...,,,but he's out on the streets,....Geez...

Sorry you can't.  Darwin nominees must remove themselves from the gene pool, die, to qualify.  Very strict about this requirement.   There are rare exceptions (castration) but this guy didn't come close.  He's still capable of reproducing.

Now had he pulled the officer over, drawn a non-functioning replica pistol and was subsequently killed by the real cop.....that would qualify.

Could? Could? Could face a prison term? WTF? ? ? ?

Alf, beat me to it. To be eligible for the Darwin award, you have to die doing something really really stupid. This satisfies the second criteria, fails the first.

One guy castrated himself with a pistol that was tucked in his waistband.  Ouch. He got a Darwin award on a technicality like Alf mentioned. With any luck this dumbass will do the same thing.
