Title: needed small gripes for a smith k frame.
Post by: TAB on July 30, 2009, 12:17:34 PM
So I'm trying to step up sarah from 22s to something bigger.  She has realtivly small hands, other then *cough* her smith 41, she really can't reach the triggers confrotable on all my other hand guns.   I tried getting her to try my youth 1100 20 ga, but no dice, she is scared of shot guns.(she is still a work in progress)

so I'm looking for some smaller grips for a k frame.

Pachmayr "compac professional" grips with the open back strap might help.....

or a standard set of old factory wood panels with a tyler "T" grip adapter.

the wood panels can be sanded down if necessary to thin it out even more.

Any grips that will keep the back strap exposed should do. Gun will be sitting deeper in the hand making it easier to reach the trigger.

Tab,
Maggie has a S&W 686 with the big factory rubber grip. I got her a set of crimson trace LG 306. They are SUBSTANTIALLY smaller than the factory grips. Too small for me but perfect for her.I know the 686 is an L frame (at least I think it is) but it shows that they have grips that might be perfect.

jay, Yes the 686 is an L frame but the grip is the same as that for the K frame.  That is what I have on my 686!

I prefer round butts but square butts could be a new experience
