Most of my pistols kick the brass out on a tarp that I lay out ahead of time so I can easily pick it up for reloading, but my CZ's chuck that brass as hard as possible and it's next to impossible to find it. I saw a brass catcher on some Outdoor show, but didn't get a good view of it. It sure would be handy! Thanks.

I never built one, but I bought a ready made one. This one attaches to your hand. It is kind of a pain in the butt! It is really, really distracting when you are shooting. I don't use it much anymore, I would rather lose a few pieces of brass than fool with the dern thing.

I've seen a few made out of PVC and misqeto netting. I'm sure they cost less then 15 mins to build.
edit, just remember seeing one on another site... here is a pic

Hey, Tab, thanks for that picture. Now that gives me an idea.....

Hey Tab, that is a good idea. I always use a blanket hanging from the rafter at the range. It keeps the brass from scattering, but still have to pick it all up. That net is a great idea.
I bought a brass catcher for my AR that is a hard plastic one that snaps on under the carrying handle. it is out of the way and works great. The best thing I ever bought. Would not shoot without it. They also make one for almost any other weapon. I am not sure how they connect but it would be worth a look.

Certainly never built anything as nice as TAB's.
Back in the '60's, I made one from a coat hanger and some mesh, along the lines of a butterfly net.
I held the coathanger frame along the grip to my 1911.
It worked ok for the range.
