How quickly even RINO's forget....
Great Speech from a Great Man.
"Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again." Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th President of the United States

Ronaldus Magnus.
We shed a tear for what was, and recognize the depth of his loss a little more with each day the post turtle soils the office once held by this great American. This REAL American. Dare I say it? This American HERO!!

I thought you were talking about Gene McCarthy. Reagan was the last best Republican, and JFK was the last best Democrat.

I second you on both of those points. Like always, Reagan was a bit over the top. BUT he didn't give in to false tough guy "Nuke them all, and we can drill for oil through the glass" rhetoric. Nor did he offer appeasment. Like JFK, and even more so, he offered an armed, prepared and non-militaristic American demand that we and ours be left in peace. Reagan was called a war monger. BS. What fights did he start? Puttng US troops in Lebanon? Invading Grenada? He talked tough, but killed far fewer folks than Bush the Elder, Clinton, W. and Obama combined. In doing so (or rather refraining from doing so), he changed the world. How? He remembered that Gadsen flag. I am no ones idea of a GOP stalwart, but I do miss the man. FQ13

A good government attracts good people, a bad one, bad people. I feel the military industrial complex took over after JFK. Our shadow govt.

Why do you think JFK got whacked? Eisenhower warned us in his departing speech before Congress that the MIC was a real danger. IMHO, JFK tried to do something about limiting or shutting down the world-wide MIC - and the money behind it - got himself whacked, and sent a message to all future presidents to leave well enough alone - or else.

I think it should be noted that Reagan was born in 1911
