the model T was released.  It sold for $850, the average americans salary in 1908 was $2-300, a year.



and you think your new car is expensive.

Successful marketer that he was, after the initial rush, he gave his employees raises, so they could possibly afford one for themselves.

That is in line with gun prices, 1865 a modern military rifle (Henry) cost about a months wages for a common laborer , $30 - $40 Now a modern military style rifle costs about a months wages for a factory worker, $1500 -$2000

when the average pay is 2-300 a year and something cost 850, that would be like 135k   as the average income in th eus is a little over 40k

Sorry, but you're confusing increase in income rates with the rate of inflation.  Two VERY different things.
