Title: 40 Years Ago,.. The Music Made The Weekend, .. Saturday Night.
Post by: twyacht on August 15, 2009, 06:32:53 PM
Regardless of the hippies, the music was good. It all happened on a dairy farm owned by Max Yasgur who died 4 years later.

The generation that prided itself on "dissent" and disagreement with "the Man"...

Totally get it.   Sam Kinison had it right. I was just focusing on the music, and those that burned their draft cards back than, are burning their AARP cards now....ironic,....

What's old is new again. This time, NOT at the expense of our troops in combat.

Actually I always liked Country Joe, and Arlo Guthrie's Alice's restaurant.  ;D

I was too young at the time, but I've always loved the music from that era. A true "one of a kind" event. There will never be another one like Woodstock.
