Well done champ, a good showing.
A shame more from your neck of the woods didnt turn up and give a little support against the mexicans.
Now all you have to do is get yourself a real pistol ;D
-
Sounds like a hearty Congrats is in line!
How about a few more details and some porn?

He probably still getting home had to drive from Mexico (victoria) back to South Australia. No doubt he can fill us in on all the details when he recovers.

Congratulations to Philw!
I hope he wasn't wearing his "Super Phil" outfit, it would have scared the "Mexicans" away,.... ::)
-
Outstanding! Congratulations, Phil.

aww chucks :-[
thanks guys
well it was a very good weekend I had a ball there
it was the 2009 Victorian Combined Services State Titles as it was only 4 hour drive I though I would head over and give it a crack.
I arrived just Friday night after leaving work early just in time for the Night Match. I have never shot at night before need glow in the dark sights hehe was a heap of fun and need to do that again when I can see the sights on my pistol.
I ended up getting 3rd shooting Class 1 pistol ( 9mm ) and got my self a nice bottle of Shiraz for my effort ( quite embarrassing as I had a shocker )
I took over 2 pistols
my PT 99 .9mm with a PT92 slide that has fixed sights to make it a Class 1
and a S&W 686 as my class 2 gun

I was a little slack and did not get many pics :-[
My camping spot for the weekend

the Range
(http://gallery.mac.com/philw/100118/DSCF9788/web.jpg)
so at the end of the 6 matches I was in
I ended up with 3 Silver's
Class 1 25 Meter Rapid Fire
Class 1 Core Event
Class 2 50M Deliberate
I was very happy with how I shot my class 1 except for the 50m shot gun would looked better
the class 2 was average for me though let my self down with the 15m part of the core event
however over all am very happy as this was the first time I have ever shot a comp that was not at my club and an interstate match. I am in C Grade it was very pleasing for me to know I am competitive at that grade however I have lots of improvement to go
Yay me ;D ;D

I also had a go for the first time at IPSC Match it was not a full on match just 2 senarios
(http://gallery.mac.com/philw/100118/DSCF9786/web.jpg)
I NEED more mags 2 would not do it for me, so I borrowed one of the guys CZ 75 to have a go
the match was called Bucked of bullets where all the mags were in the bucket and we had to carry the bucket as we went though double tapping every "Bad Guy" target and are not meant to take friendly's ( hehe well I had a couple of casualty's of war )
I have got to do more comps like that.

Nah he's just ripping a yarn, probably a bit parched and spitting chips as he is knocking up a bit of plaster, which makes him dry as a dead dingos donger, and will have no doubt blown the froth off a couple hence his verbal anguish!

Good job Phil. Stay away from all the vices that plague organized shooting event champions. ;)

The only competitive shooting vice I'd REALLY be interested in would be Jessie Abbate.

Congrats Phillie,
Forgive Eric. He can't help that he's a Seppo and he doesn't get the true blue. He's always whinging about something. Poor bloke doesn't know his date from his donger. Bit of a drongo. ;D (Just razzing ya Eric)
Your car park campsite looked cozy. I hope you kept the mozzies and the bities out of your Matilda.
Sounds like you had heaps of fun. I know you'd never skite but I'm happy as Larry bout your silvers.
