I just got this E Mail :
Dear Thomas,
Click to Contribute
Yesterday, Carly Fiorina took the next big step towards jumping into the 2010 Senate race against Barbara Boxer: She officially filed the paperwork for her campaign committee, "Carly for California," with the IRS.
It's clear: Fiorina is getting geared up for this campaign — and we've got to gear up too. Please help, right now.
Contribute $5 to Barbara's campaign today — and make sure we're ready for Fiorina!
Don't just take my word for it. Here's what Fiorina herself said about yesterday's filing:
"I have received a great deal of encouragement to make a run for the Senate in 2010 from people across the political spectrum... [Filing with the IRS is] a logical next step in the process of evaluating running for this office."
The National Republican Senatorial Committee, responsible for recruiting Republican candidates for Senate races across the country, was giddy about the news, calling Fiorina "a phenomenal candidate who will make California among our most competitive races next November."
We've got to be prepared. Fiorina is getting ready to jump into this race — and plans to use millions from her own personal fortune to buy a seat in the U.S. Senate.
Contribute $5 to Barbara's campaign today — and make sure we're ready for Fiorina!
Remember, Fiorina received more than $100 million as CEO of HP, where she laid off more than 20,000 workers and outsourced HP jobs offshore. She even said, "There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore." Of course, when she herself was fired, she took a $20 million severance check.
Portfolio Magazine named Fiorina one of the worst CEOs in American history. Here's how they summed up her tenure: "A consummate self-promoter, Fiorina was busy pontificating on the lecture circuit and posing for magazine covers while her company floundered. She paid herself handsome bonuses and perks while laying off thousands of employees to cut costs. The merger Fiorina orchestrated with Compaq in 2002 was widely seen as a failure. She was ousted in 2005...HP stock lost half its value during Fiorina's tenure."
With all her personal wealth, Fiorina will attempt to rewrite her own history of failure — and distort Barbara's record of accomplishment. We must make sure the facts are out there — and to do that, we need your help now.
It's time to gear up.
Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Rose Kapolczynski
Campaign Manager
Boxer for Senate
P.S. Barbara's been building a strong grassroots support network across California and all across the country to combat Carly Fiorina and her deep pockets. We need you now. Please contribute today — and then forward this email to everyone you know.

you know whats really scary, the last people I remember running against them ( and actually had a shot) were worse.
I really don't think this lady has a chance in hell of winning. I'm also not so sure we would be getting a better person, just a "replacement".

It would have to be better because the newbie would not have the seniority that Babs has so she would get crap committee assignments. At the absolute worst it's a different name to curse.

Conflicted here. Would love to see Boxer on the rug beating line, but Fiorina is also the person who destroyed HP as a true innovator, and before she left, most of HP's profits came from ink. FROM INK!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

Don't laugh, have you priced HP ink cartridges ?
The ones I've needed for almost a year are $50 each.
No, I'm NOT going to pay that.

What really honks me off is that HP seems to have drunk deep of her kool-aid, and the cartridges got smaller while the price per ml went up. I had one printer that used 19ml cartridges - the black ones were about $22. The printer eventually gave up the ghost after a long time, and the new one uses cartridges that are 5ml - at $16 a pop.
I now order from cartridge pros online, they have the higher capacity cartridges.

Not neccessarily. I seem to remember seeing Stewart Smalley during the Judicial Committee hearings on Sotomayor.

But it will be years, maybe decades, before he Chairs anything, and that is where the power is in Committees.

Its true, plus he just got that post as an FU to the GOP for dragging the election out so long. Fiorina is not well liked in the GOP. McCain floated her as a possible VP and it went over about as well as Harriet Meyers. I doubt she will weild much power. If she wins they will give her something that will let her send pork back home. Plus, every time my stepdad talked to HP tech support he would get a report on the weather in Mumbai. Those were well paying jobs that used to be in cali. There are a lot of moderate GOP tech folks out there who will ding her just for that. One of these days the GOP will pick a good candidate. I don't think she's it.
