The dates for the second annual Gunman1911 postal match are Sept 1 through Oct 30 (Post Date ) David Raddatz from Onaway Michigan died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008. David was known by all of us here at Down Range as Gunman 1911.

The targets are in the same thread you got the rules from.
Yes and it looks like Cookie won, but I STILL can't find M'ettes post making it official and it's starting to get me PEEVED because I've checked every thread that mentioned the shoot through the advanced search >:(

Just talked my little girl....she might send a few targets as well! We'll make a day of it and with Mikes arsenal, I should be able to send in most of the targets!
Now, what did I do with that MK-15 Phalanx I had around here?

Will you accept a cheque from oz? or prefer a money order?
You'd have to check with M'ette but I would think either would be fine. I get checks from all over (business) and it just takes a little longer to clear, that's all.

Sorry guys.. been up to the top of my ass in obligations...
Yes.. checks are fine.. money orders..whatever you want to do is fine with me.
Can't talk.. the damned phone is driving me crazy and I have massages to do off and on today.. Why is it sometimes it is just nice and level and other times people act like I'm going to be dead in 2 weeks and everyone wants me at the same time. Made time to go to Wichita to the dentist yesterday. Marshal went too and we slipped off afterwards and saw the movie The Hurt Locker.. Dahhhum...!! it was so good! Now its back home again and full speed ahead..
Call me if you REALLY need me . ((((*shut up Haz*(http://www.rightnation.us/forums/style_emoticons/default/loveslap.gif) )))) Right now its faster than e-mailing me.. I'll try and catch up later..

At least you have a little time to get the little holes somewhere in the vicinity of the big black X

Alf,
Don't take the crap ... Er ... Ah ... guys, those little holes would make me think twice about getting testy with Alf. What difference does it make if he puts them in the middle of your heart or just blows one atrium off ???
I'll step up as Ranger and say if you shoot a target a few days early and submit in good faith we'll accept it. Not being a pro shooter and having a real job I understand how hard it is to find the time and weather to participate. Shoot 'em when you got 'em! Participation is what counts!
Nice shooting! You've set the bar high early man!

Had a bit of a practice today, still some more fine tuning to do, today was far from perfect, late in the afternoon after the comp and sun low in the sky.
but any way heres a couple teasers

Point well taken on the grouping, BTW - the grouping had absolutely no effect on my decision either! ;)

We'll see, it's been a while since I've pressed a trigger! I was hoping to do all the rifle as well but the SIL didn't leave me a key to the safe... :'(

So, just to encourage everyone, here's a classic example of me shooting a rifle standing. Pistol......I'm okay with.....rifle....not so much.
Let me trot out the excuses......no sling, windy day, hecklers in the peanut gallery, guy shooting 7mm Mag right next to me....uh.....I'm sure there are others.
So get your entries in. Even just one hole on paper would beat my score. (FYI: Savage 25, in .223, 100yds)

Don't fret Alf....I may be shooting my rifle groups with my 106 year old Savage Model 1903! At fifty yards, I'll be lucky to hit the paper myself. We'll see how the old squirrel gun holds up since I have not shot it in 26 years, at least!

NO ENTRY Savage 1903 24" barrel, .22 LR just for fun. This old gun shoots pretty straight but needs some TLC....found an online site for replacement parts. The magazine goes for 42 bucks....5 times what the gun was worth in 1903!

The rifle shooting is going to be interesting for me.
That old gun won't cut the mustard. I'll be using the SIL's Rem 700 in .243 or his Bushy XM-15 in .223 for the longer range. Fifty yards, probably his GSR-5 plinker or whatever I buy in the next month. It will be either a lever gun in .357 or the Savage rimfire rifle.

Yes, if you are in the empty brass business.... No offense but if the zombies start coming after us, I think that the safest place to be might be directly IN FRONT of twyacht and Timothy..... I dont want anybody to get hit with friendly fire! Minute of angle Minute of watch out!

Sorry, your entry for the Witness is not valid. You failed to record the class.
4A was written with my "magic" Sharpie on the target,....it was "obscured" by the pistol,,,, :-[ I wrote 4A on the .45LC target, but on the EAA, the (insert profanity), Magtech flyer was there instead...
That's okay, Don, I've got another plan, should have them all mailed off after this weekend....

Technically, I was not making empty brass. I was using that crumby Blazer junk because that's all I could find around these parts. I was making empty aluminum! ;)
As to the flyers? I make no excuses for my shooting, the boooletts was going where I was aiming......mostly......maybe......yea, mostly! ;D
Again, I would not want to stand right in front of me, those are 6 inch targets, a mans chest is much bigger than that! Now, based on my last few golf swings, directly in front would most definately be a good place to stand!
Still waiting for some more entries fellas. I'm sending these targets in, no "do-overs" for me! :)

Your right Timothy. I'll hang em', shoot em', and send em',,,The wise judges in Kansas can hash them out.
The cause is just, and I would add,,,, that more holes in paper, would be nice to see, as "some" talk a good game,,,,but our targets are up.

Every time I think I'm going to get one or two done something comes up, however the time is coming that I will do it soon or go crazy trying.
Hoping some of the rest of you are thinking the same thing!

But you might post the names of the entries you receive each day. One so we know you got them and two, to chide the others into sending there's in.

I hear ya, pal.....I've been struggling like a cat trying to cover up a turd on a frozen pond just to get to the range. I finally got the chance to go last Saturday and my printer was out of ink. So I went to the range anyway and fired a few rounds at the steel targets for the heck of it. Got the printer online today so I'll print out some targets and try to get out to the range again to punch some holes.

O.K. I tried.
I went to my club today with 5 nice, new, crisp targets to violate. It is an indoor range. I go into the building and what do I find? The range is all nice and pretty. Tables and chairs everywhere with white tablecloth, vases with flowers, trays of cookies, and other assorted crap that does not belong in a shooting range.
The head table was at the end of the room with the targets. For a second I thought about just shooting over it, but figured whoever set it up probably wouldn't appreciate powder residue on the white tablecloth.
I ended up just going to the rifle range and sending a few downrange in frustration. I won't bother to post pics of the targets. I can usually shoot the center out of a paster at 10 yds. This wasn't one of those days.
I did have to laugh when I fired the first shot from my Kel-Tec and it looked like it was snowing pocket lint downrange.
Had I known I would be isolated to the rifle range, I would have brought different toys.

First pair of targets just put on the shelf!
The Savage 111 is better than me, but prone (I broke a leg on my bench) looks pretty good - sub 1 moa on the last three shots after I made a windage adjustment(should have just left it and had a five shot group off center, but ...), and standing I got all five on the paper ... and a couple even in the rings ;D

Going over to the range (did I mention that I NOW live only two miles away? ;D) and try and figure out this GSG-5 plinker and shoot my 50 yard and maybe 100 yard targets for the Postal Match.
When I finish these, I may as well mail them, depends on the weather over the next few weeks.
Seventy and humid today but it can change with one good cold front.

Well, I'm home with only one target. Things were going well, sighting in the little plinker to my tastes. I started getting pretty consistant groups and loaded two mags for my final groups. Ran another ten rounds through it for good measure and the front sight blade fell off!
Needless to say, it's kinda tough to be front sight focused when YOU HAVE NO FRONT SIGHT..... >:(
I may repeat today with another firearm, probably the Savage bolt action .243 for the long ranges and send this one....haven't decided yet.
GSG-5 Review on another thread!

Tried to shoot some targets yesterday, could't hit the broadside of a barn! Best target was from my RG industies Snubbie (1 1/4 in barrel).
Took the POS Mosquito that NEVER runs a full mag. Well.....I ran about a dozen mags through it with NO problems! Even tried limp wristing it and it ran. I do NOT understand this gun! Will take it a few more times and if it runs as well each time I MIGHT start to trust it.

I just needed to mature a little.

Thanks for the reminder Haz!
Weather up here has been nuts, but it looks like a nice day Monday. Maybe I can get a couple more targets done.

Judges question.....
Will my Remy 870 with slugs comply for the rifle targets? Seems I'm running out of time and logistically it's getting harder to get my hands on a rifle.
I guarentee you will be able to see the holes in the paper without a spotting scope!
;D

Finally........had to shoot down at my spot behind the house.......and it ain't pretty......but at least I got to shoot some targets. ;) :D
I know we can shoot at 10 yards, but I was at 15 yards. Some of the targets:
#1: Springfield Armory 1911 .45acp....shot while resting on my range bag off the back of our golf cart. #2: Same gun, shot standing, offhand. #3: Browning Buckmark .22lr, seated using range bag #4: Same Gun, group inside trigger guard (barely) ;D #5: Glock G27, standing offhand

Thanks, Alf.
Actually, I was a little disappointed with the Glock. I posted in another thread the other day as to how really accurate they are, despite the short barrels, and this was the best I could get it to do offhand with the Federal 185 FMJ's from Wally World. With Cor-Bon JHP's I have actually put them all in the black on the same style target from a 'pistol perch' type rest.
It'll do, though. ;D ;D

hell, anybody ought to be able to shoot a 1" group at 7 yards.
Dont say ANYBODY..... Haz obviously cant do it...... I could have probably cut that in half if I wasn't using a gun that essentially doesn't have any sights.

I try to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was probably hung-over. ;)

I'm thinking womprats...... "I used to bulls eye womprats in my T-16 back home...."
Well, at 2 meters apiece, we should be able to hit them..........even Haz. ;D
I've shot much better, but am not one to make excuses. ;)
In all seriousness, though, from what I've seen from the shooters on here, I don't want any of you guys sighting at me. (even though I'd be hard to miss)

Does anyone on this site actually know how old I really am?
A while back you said you were thirty. I took you at your word....that film came out in the 70's. I saw it in Arcata, CA in a '66 Lincoln Continental at a drive in. We actually paid admission for our keg of Budweiser, dressed and wearing a hat....
I was 20 or 21 at the time....
