I ran across this on the CDNN website
http://cdnn.powerfulhosting.com/level.itml/icOid/756
If you own a Norinco NDM86 .308 Dragunov please contact Randall Keeling, CDNN warehouse manager, at 1-800-588-9500 immediately. It has been determined that certain commercial ammunition may produce a slam fire condition causing the firearm to fire out of battery. This can result in injury or death to a bystander or the shooter. A simple modification to the bolt assembly can easily remedy the situation. We are recalling only those .308 Dragunovs purchased directly or indirectly from CDNN Investments, Inc. prior to 1/1/2000. Please have your serial number ready when you call. • DO NOT FIRE THE GUN AFTER RECEIVING THIS NOTICE! • DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE FIREARM! •DO NOT RETURN THE ENTIRE FIREARM. CONTACT US FOR INSTRUCTIONS! •PLEASE DO NOT E-MAIL RECALL QUESTIONS. WE PREFER TO SPEAK WITH ALL OWNERS.

I don't know, they used to import 7.63x39 at about a dime a round, steel core but they went bang. They also were the source for Chinese AKs and SKS'. Maybe not the prettiest guns out there, but if its good enough for the Chinese army, odds are good it will work if the zombies attack. It would sure as hell get my undived attention anyway. Not my first choice, but good enough is good enough.

Don't knock them, They made one of the best AK's I've ever seen and the fit and finish on their 1911 was as good as Colt, also, their model 213 Tokarev in 9mm was an excellent little pistol.

I'll take a Norinco over the Romanian crap anyday...

I like Norinco SKS's they shoot great and there put together very nicely. I use mine for coyote control at my uncles house and there no where they can hide.

Tom, that recall has been going on for years, but I'm glad cdnn keeps it up there. I have bought a lot of stuff from them.
I like norinco sks's, I still have 2, I had a beautiful russian, but it did not shoot any better.
Here is my Norinco that takes real ak mags, I have had the forestock smoking with this drum.

The other is a carbine with folding stock that I keep in my tool box at work, fits in a drawer. Zombies don't always attack when your at home.

Ummmm, Several Asian military's issue Norinco's.

Norinco MAK90 - over 2,000 rounds, not a single failure to fire yet. Operates smooth as glass. Show's next to no wear inside, only shiny rails and hammer.
I've always looked over the dozens of SKS's available at shows, & and Williams Gun Shop. The Norinco's were always the most expensive and it was very easy to see why. Their very well made. Just not as "trendy" as AR's. ::)

I HATED the stock on my MAK 90, that was before I found out about replacements :(
I had never heard about this recall before.
-
Slamfire, not the worst reason I've heard of for firearm recalls. The original MAK stocks were REALLY easy to cut down into proper AK stocks (probably a law against doing it though). But if I can take wood off a weapon, and replace it with something lighter, more durrable, and with better ergonomics... ;D

I have 2 SKS's made by them, and they are favorite rifles of mine. One takes AK mags, and I need to buy a 75 round drum for it.

Has this one got a refinish job on it too? Maybe it just looks different in the picture. Who makes that stock?

Some of our SEALS are using Norinco AK's.

Had similar furniture on my old SKS. I like the AK's alot better. Don't like the extending tab on the SKS compared to the AK-47.
