if you don't want the Carhartt Jacket......
I am XXL in sizing ;D
do you know if they will be selling that jacket as I could not see it on there web site

Phil,
All I saw was this: http://shopruger.com/Jackets-Vests/products/68/
They do change their product line up from time to time. I have seen more rugged wear jackets than what they have now.
Not getting any Ruger bolt action rifles any time soon. Now if they had a 30.06 or 6.5x55 with sights I might think about it.

I was thinking about that too. I saw that Mossberg sells a .308 with sights. In an EOTWAWKI situation, if my glass gets damaged for whatever reason, I still want to be able to remove it and get game meat.

I've always thought this was stupid as well. Most new hunting rifles don't have irons. Yeah, we're going to put a scope on it, but what happens on day two of that once in a life time fly in hunt, when you drop the thing and break the scope? They always used to come with irons. Its weird that it was AR's that pioneered the flip up BUIS. Looking back, you'd think it would have been someone's "Alaskan" or "African" model, where they would have made their first appearence. ???

Out performs the old reliable 30/30 balisticly, you can carry a matching 6 shooter as backup (or just for fun!), load anything from 180 to 300 grain rounds in it, and its a Ruger in S.S. - should last a lifetime in any conditions.
I'd already own one if the stock werent just so damn cheap & ugly! Bass Pro has one on the rack I cant help but keep looking at. I think they want $640 for it.

It think that's the operative word right there M'lette. You are gentlewoman, get ag entlewoman's gun. A side by side in 20 or 28. Show a little class, leave the cheap imatations at home and bring a REAL shot gun. The doves deserve it. Save the rest for Iguanas. ;D

One thing I've always agreed with..... Rifles should have iron sights AND ability to use optics.
