Title: The Language lately
Post by: Dakotaranger on August 29, 2009, 12:10:12 AM
While I'm not doing this advocated by anyone with any authority on this site, I have a HUGE favor to ask everyone.  This is the only gunboard I visit mainly because it is the most enjoyable.  I only have time to spend on the site at work, with some of the webblocks eventually with the language could fall under the obscene blocker fairly soon.

So, I beseech ever last one that is on the board
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF LUCY
can we tone down the swearing

I'm sorry..
I wrote and gave my apologies just now in the Joke thread...  :-[

I'll try  to watch my language more .. I should anyway.. I know better...
It's a public forum and I'm supposed to moderate..... and keep this place respectable .... not jump in with both feet , grab a paddle and help row the convicts downstream..  :-\ And besides ..without hearing someone talk.. things become easily misunderstood.. so posts are taken wrong...

I am sorry for offending... I'll do better.
I'll try to run this place like Miss Kitty would run the Saloon in Gunsmoke.  :)

I see this place much like an Aussie Hunting / Shooting forum I am on  bit like being at a pub with your mates having a few cold ones  and from time to time the conversation  gets either heated or  I just turn in to a sick puppy  ;)  (  my sense of humour  though )

I will try to be good  ;D

If you have to ask....No it won't.  When in doubt don't use it.

Had a buddy get in a fight one time, locked the other guy in a stock trailer. Basements have windows, possibly other doors, ways to get out. Stock trailers cannot be opened from the inside - period!

And yes, alcohol and a woman were also involved.

I like the symbols over the numbers, Just my @#$% opinion... ::)

I refrain from the big language "bombs", as I can usually get my position across without them.

and will insert the appropriate (http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm182/twyacht/mad0245.gif)

when posting with TAB.. ;)

The language doesn't bother me but for some reason one of the filters blocked one of my favorite blogs and said there was pornographic or obscene material on that website....the guy never swore or posted anything like the pics TAB uses for his avatar...so I'm just al little concerned is all that I'll loose access

My work computer blocks me from one of the pages on a radio station's website.  They have show called "80's Explosion", and the link on their site calls it 80sexplosion, so it's blocked.  lol

Dont join the military!  Durring the 6 years I was in I never heard a sentance the didnt have the "F word" ::) in it almost every second word said!  Half the women dropped it once in a while.

My in-laws wont watch a movie that has "language" in it. ::)  To me this only demonstrates small mindedness, and ignorance.  Ignorance because they will forever remain ignorant if they are unable to expose themselves to the opinions or behaviors of others without filtering out what is usefull or unuseable to them.  Brings me visions of book burnings...

I have to admit.  As much as it pisses me off everytime I go to the store and find I cant buy anything thats NOT made in China, I respect the Chinese people because their work ethic allows them to produce that much junk that they can completely flood our market with it.  I'll bet they're left with little time to sneak off and surf the web while being paid to do work.  :-\

And the rest of the world has the NERVE to call Americans fat, stupid, and lazy!  BAH!

It's not their work ethic. It's the fact that they live in a 3rd world $hit hole, 50 of them live in a 1 bedroom apartment, they have no phone, and lucky to have electricity. With such a high standard of living, I guess it is hard to compete.  ::)

My dad once dated a lady who had a problem with people spitting and cussing, but she guzzled margaritas and smoked..... I was being nice so I couldn't tell her how ridiculous that was or how she had no room to talk..... I Also spit plenty when she was around, same as I do with everyone else around (Out of habit.... Not to get on her nerves...).

The cool part is most of those movies have enough violence in them you dont even notice a few F bombs here and there! ;D
