Last weekend, Michael Bane and host of Cowboys, Ron “Tupelo Flash” Stein went back in time to the roaring twenties and the thirties, the depression era of gangsters and G-men. They did not use a time machine.. nor was it another Hollywood production. It was a shooting match set up by the American Zoot Shooters Association (AZSA).
A couple of years ago, Henning Wallgren and Jason Huss came up with the idea of using single stack 1911s and Tommy Guns in competition. Alan Samuel and Ken Kwiat followed suit and AZSA became a reality.
You will see more from this match and AZSA on Shooting Gallery in 1st quarter 2010 on Outdoor Channel.

Okay, I seriously need to find some sort of shooting competition (of any variety) somewhere here in MN because this looks like too much fun.

Cool fun. Wish that I had a Tommy gun to compete with.
