STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Police say a 61-year-old man annoyed with a crying 2-year-old girl at a Wal-Mart slapped the child several times after warning the toddler's mother to keep her quiet.
A police report says after the stranger hit the girl at least four times, he said: "See, I told you I would shut her up."
Roger Stephens of Stone Mountain is charged with felony cruelty to children.
Authorities say the girl and her mother were shopping Monday when the toddler began crying.
The police report says Stephens approached the mother and said, "If you don't shut that baby up, I will shut her up for you."
Authorities say after Stephens slapped the girl, she began screaming.
The mother then called for security.
The girl suffered some redness in the face but was otherwise okay.
Stephens is currently being held without bond.

We all can get annoyed at a screaming kid at Wally World or wherever, but this bastard would have only gone to jail AFTER his stint at the ICU from the repeated impacts with those damn floors...
He is charged with a felony child abuse/assault, and NO BOND.
Smoking gun also has a mug shot of this grumpy old bastard...

I would tempted (if it were my child), to stick my M+P in his mouth, but I would also be in jail,.... Mopping the floor with his sorry ass would be more appropriate, and he would never forget it, probably limping for many months..
1 case where the LEO's probably would not have minded if his ass was kicked prior to arrest. Those damn floors are slippery when the face keeps hitting it.

It's probable that the a$$hat would not have undertaken his actions had the child been accompanied by a member of the less fair sex, the cost of dental work being what it it.

if he did that to mine i wouldnt even bother with the gun, too loud and easy. i think i would cut him up, not so deep that its deathly, but deep enough to draw lots of blood. i would say i was protecting my son from a attack, after the initial beating i would have to drag him to the next aisle because i dont think i would want Taylor to see what is about to happen.

LOL, at Johnny Bravo. I have a young daughter who is approaching her first year of life. If this dipstick laid a finger on my daughter he would have recieved some serious wall to wall counseling. That is me putting him through this wall, that wall, and any wall that got in the way.
As for the guys in jail, that m25operator mentioned, there are certain people who are absolutely detested in a correctional setting. They are child molestors, rapists and anyone who is cruel to children. >:( They are the armpit of humanity and have to be isolated normally cause they are not safe from other prisoners.

Not excesive at all, hell it WAS Walmart, you just wanted to try some different loads on the shelf. ;D Honestly, that guy is very, very lucky. If you live in any sort of reasonable state, a stranger attacking a two year old, its kind of hard to prosecute the parent I don't care what they did. Its one those cases where the perp gets buried with a tombstone that reads "What did he think would happen"?

I'll stand by what I said earlier. It scares me too think of what I would do. I'd be locked up!

I have to agree with FQ on this one. You would probably have to do something pretty creative for the Cops to even think about arresting you.

If he has a family, they are probably lucky he's gone, too. Even Nature tells us not to attack a mom with her pups. You will get bit. He clearly assaulted a child, and that's going to cost him. He will get time to think about how his new room mates will get to slap him, to keep him from crying out at night. When a kids sugar goes low it's hard to control them. But it's the parent's responsibilities, that's where it falls, not a stupid stranger or the government for that matter.

I'd hope that she kept her gun in purse holster, but knowing her, it's very possible. At the very least she would have done everything in her petite 5'2" frame to beat his butt. They would still be pulling broken off fingernails out of him.
My money's on my baby.
