Recently I posted that I was a little annoyed that I could not buy grips etc through Ruger (although I was good enough to buy one of their pistols at an inflated rate (900.00 aus) than you would buy).
Any way I ended up getting a volq accurising kit and other things etc to upgrade it further costing nearly another 300US. (from the US I might add)
I also wanted a small scope directlly mounted to the pistol, the only option I could find was the burris fast fire11. I enquired here and they wanted 530.00 for the scope buy it self. The scope in the US retails for around 200.00 or 240aus!!!!!!!! 1/2 the price.
So I placed and order with Optics Planet.

Unfortunately, at this time we cannot ship any Burris products outside of the United States due to restrictions imposed by our manufacturer. The manufacturer has specified that United States dealers should not sell internationally to protect business rights of International dealers.

That's nuts. I don't see where it would break any laws for me to purchase the scope at the U.S. price and then ship it to you.

Absolutely, we'll do the International Brother In Arms Trade Agreement. Can't see why the mark up would be that ridiculous through your local dealer.
Add 1 more resource, if needed, to ship it to you direct. I sent antique Penn No. 49 Offshore Reels to NZ, got there in about a week.
We can make it a "No Worries" deal. Your my long lost Uncle from Australia, and you need a scope,.... 8)

FWIW
as I mentioned I have brought a 10/22 trigger kit, mark iii trigger kit and a swag of other stuff through hornet products (a nice lady called priscilla) and I actually called her and mentioned the issue of not being able to procure the grips I wanted etc, (now this is customer service) she logged on to the manufaturers website and brought the grips I wanted and put them in the package with the other items I had purchased from her and only charged me the cost of the actual grips and of course the postage to her. (saved me 75.00 US in the shipping from the other place to boot)
