The very last paragraph, I can't copy and paste it, quotes Lawrence Keane of the USSF, the Dems know that 80million households own at least 1 firearm. updated 8/09.
That's 1/2 the nation!!, the Dems would go down in flames, more so than already predicted in 2010 elections.
" House Democrats will let HR 45 DIE in subcommittee, rather than risk more ire from gunowners " from Keane.
It never really gained support since Feb. 09, just an attempt by the anti far left to get anything they could through on the "wave" of the Anointed One.
It's not going to happen. But always got to watch those sneaky anti bastards...

This like the "Gun Tax" were dead before they were introduced. The biggest problem with the net is that nothing ever goes away. 20 years from now some one will send you an e mail b!tching about either "Blair / Holt", or the Muslim commemorative Christmas stamp. (Or maybe the one about "don't use the dollar coins because they don't say "in God we trust", which in fact they DO, they are impressive because they are the first coins to have engraving on the edge. )

This was in my GunBroker.com newsletter for this month.
Urban Legends on Gun Control Bills Continue to Surface
It seems urban legends about new gun-control bills are continuing to surface. The latest fallacy to cause concern is a bill, "SB 2099," that would allegedly require gun owners to list their firearms on their tax documents (and pay upward of $50 per gun owned).
There is no such bill. Also generating talk is HR 45, The Blair Holt Act. Sponsored by U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.), HR 45 calls for, amongst other things, all handgun owners to submit to the federal government a formal application including: photo identification, fingerprints, medical and mental health records and a completed written firearm safety examine.
The legislation also mandates that a federal database be established of all firearm sales and transfers. Though this legislation is real and NSSF is continuing to monitor it, industry and gun owners should not be concerned. HR 45 has no co-sponsors and is not a threat to become law.

If nothing else, reviving this every so often wakes the hell up gun owners who have been taking their Second Amendment rights for granted. My sister is one. I've been getting e-mails from her lately WARNING me of this travesty.
