Guess I won't be drinking Starbucks anymore! ! !
Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.
So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street -to-street and house-to-house.
If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know.
Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.

PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS . ALLOW IT TO BE PASSED TO ALL IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR NOT! ! !
Also, don't forget that when the TwinTowers were hit the fire fighters and rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water for the survivors and workers and Starbucks charged them! ! !

I just don't go because the coffee (regular, not that freu freu crap) is not that good and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced.
-
Beat me to it....I'm not warm and fuzzy over Starbucks anyway...We have plenty of locally owned coffee shops around here that are less expensive and actually are polite to their customers.

Yeah, I was gonna mention the elite asshole staff (and most customers).
Today I'm drinking fresh ground 8 O'clock beans. ;)

+1 four bucks a pound works for me....grind it myself, every cup.....
Whasamatter Haz? Don't like the tats and pierced noses at the local freu, freu Starbucks. "Goth Baristas".... ;D ;D
Gotta agree, the only time I actually buy one is to annoy the clerk when I ask for a large instead of a "Venti"....our Barnes & Noble bookstores all have them. I buy a cup and sit and read all the gun mags..... ;)

One of my fav's is the Filling Station on West College in Santa Rosa. She has a 50's gas station thing going on there and she has hired very cute young gals with tattoos...and the owner is a cutie too!

Hell I think 7-11 coffee is pretty darn good, in any case MUCH better than, Starbucks, Dunkin', McDs, etc.
-
7-11 is good but we don't have them up here, Cumberland Farms uses the same brand so their OK. McD's has the crappiest coffee on the planet (not counting espresso )
-
I make coffee every morning with a press (I like it, therefore refuse to put the F word in front of "press"). Smoothest, richest coffee in the world! Takes an extra minute or two to make, but WELLLLL worth it! ;D Mmmmmmmm good.
We're not particular to the brand, but medium-dark roast is good.

What, you don't like paying for little socialist-produced $8 latte grande? What's wrong with you, man?

When I was a kid, the first thing we kids did when shopping with Mom was run to the 8 o'clock grinder and sniff the hell out of it. We were not allowed to even look at a cup of coffee - and my Dad went through a lot of it, until we were much older. On the great day were were allowed to have our first sip - dayum, that stuff was nasty! How can something smell so good and taste so bad at that same time? ? ?
Never touch the stuff, not to this very day.

I really don't know how/why anyone would like or miss Starbucks, but I do miss going to Dunkin Donuts.
-
I have never spent a cent at Starbucks, and never will. Call me cheap, I love it! Bill T.

No Dunkin Donuts in CA yet. NV is the furthest west so far.

You guys are just now hearing about this? Where have you all been for the last 6 years?
-

While it's true this bill has in fact sat for quite a while, so have a lot of anti gun bills. As Dianne Feinstein said, "The time isn't right YET." They will continue to have huge majorities in both Houses until a year from November. The President's as well as all the Democrat's poll ratings are falling fast. Before the election they may adopt a, "We've got nothing to lose" posture. Then look out! Bill T.

now I'm not a coffe person, but about 4-5 years ago, I was duck hunting with a buddy, his truck would not start, so we walked about 6 miles after dark in the rain, temps just above freezing, wind blowing 25+ mph.( yeah it was fun) We come to a star bucks, we both walk in, guns still on our shoulders. Now I had never heard of star bucks, but I'm cold, wet and muddy.
" I want a black coffee"
they go into thier stick about this or that.
after about 30 seconds my buddy says, very loudly...
" we want it hot, black and now"
Now up until that point, ever one was talking/ reading... etc. no one had noticed us walk in with guns over our shoulders.
you could have heard a pin drop, it was silent for along time.
I really think we made a yuppie or two wet thier pants.

OK TAB,
I need to know the planet you are from that didn't have a Starbucks on every corner? I want to move there. :)
PS I do like your story.

Starbucks= $5 for a cup of "screen door" coffee...........no thanks.
*Screen Door coffee= coffee that causes you to be able to crap through a screen door an hour after you drink it.
-
I rediscovered Dunkin Donuts earlier this year. Damn Good coffee... and donuts!
-
I'm not a coffee person, but I've heard MCD has great coffee... not been in one for about 15 years.
-
McD has the WORST coffee and Dunkin runs a close second.
-
Mickey D's is a reconstituted syrup. To me it always tastes burnt. However, when on the road early in the morning it is either C stores, Mickey D's or drive in the ditch. Non of the three are good choices.
-
McD has the WORST coffee and Dunkin runs a close second.
And that's saying a lot......considering all the 'other' beverages you've purported to have swilled. ;)
;D
-
I don't drink coffee, so I would not know. Just lots of coffee drinkers say its good. I've not been in one for 15 years, its been almost 20 since I've eaten anything from them.
-
I drive by at least ten DD every day, and I MEAN drive by!
DD coffee is nasty stuff....we use the stores to navigate by in the N.East and use the stale donuts to prop up tables and chairs that are missing legs....
Yuck!
-

Let's just say I am 'experienced'. ;)

Trust me TAB, McD's coffee is sh!t.

every thing there is shit.

Thanks....I referenced that thread last week........9 pages on coffee.........what next, drapes?
-
what next, drapes?
only if the carpet matchs... it does on my wife, both red ;D
-
I go to work every morning with two cups of Dunkin Donuts's. Can't leave home without it!
Ever since McDonalds went to "gormet" coffee I hate it.
Now as for drapes, do you prefer bold or subtle colors?
-
Thanks....I referenced that thread last week........9 pages on coffee.........what next, drapes?
I drink my first cup in the morning in my underware ... How abut you big fella ;)

I think a lot of ya, Mike....but that's a vision I don't need in my mind............I'm already an insomniac. ;D
I worked graveyard shift for 15 years and only drank it during winter.........I probably average a whole pot of coffee a year now.
My wife is the coffee fiend. When we met, she put away about three pots a day. She has whittled that down to about one.
