Shots Fired At Colorado Springs Denny's; Two Suspects
COLORADO SPRINGS - Police have identified Dequan Ward, 22, as a suspect in the firing of a weapon inside a Denny's Restaurant early Friday morning.
Police say Ward and another unidentified man--both Fort Carson soldiers--entered the Denny's at Academy Boulevard and Boulder Street near Citadel Mall just before 3 a.m. The men sat at a table, where Ward took out a handgun and fired once at the floor from underneath the table. Police say Ward fired the shot to see how customers would react.
According to police, several customers were sitting near Ward at the time, and the bullet also grazed his right leg. It's unclear what role the second man had in the incident. One of the two suspects apparently has been taken to Fort Carson.
Police impounded a vehicle at the scene where the handgun allegedly was stored, and officers also checked out a second vehicle believed to have evidence of marijuana. Police believe Ward was drunk at the time of the incident. He's charged with reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and prohibited use of a weapon.

Maximum sentance ! People need to be held accountable for their actions.
This is not a drug / alcohol offense, nor is it a "gun" offense. This is pure and simple a case of some one being a dumb ass, and if the penalty ruins his life, TO F-CKING BAD.

Given that he's still breathing, he didn't do this in South Florida. THATS how we react. ::) ::) ::)

Man shot during self-defense lesson
Saturday, October 3, 2009
GROVEPORT, Ohio (AP) — An 80-year-old Ohio man is recovering from a week in which he was beaten during a home invasion and then shot while trying to learn about guns.
Ralph Needs says he wouldn't want anyone to experience what he's been through.
He was tied up and pistol-whipped when at least three intruders broke into his Columbus-area home Sept. 20. Needs' nose was broken and his pickup truck, a computer and credit cards were stolen.
Four days later, Needs was shot in the hand during a self-defense lesson. A 9 mm pistol went off as one of his sons was loading it.
Groveport police say it was an accident, so there will be no charges. No one has been arrested in the assault, but one person was charged in connection with the stolen computer, now recovered.
