I just hit Classic Arms web site. They have a returned, but functioning CZ-82, 9x18 with holster and kit for $159. They are selling as is as they don't have tte reason for the return. If you like CZs I'd jump on this.

Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. :P BUT there will be no jumping on my part. I am happy with my Glock. I just know that there are a few folks on the board that like these, so I thought I'd mention it.

Good BUG, easily converts to 380 if you swap barrels and mags

You ought to see what 9x18 Makarov Magsafe ammo does to a phone book! :o

9x18 essentially is equal to .380 in performance.... its harder to find, and you would probably have to mostly get your ammo online.

While everything else was empty on the store shelves here, 9x18 could still be found. Same with the gun shows. That and 7.62x54R.

Could never find it in my neck of the woods.

Gander Mtn. here had many boxes of 3-4 different labels of Makarov on the shelf last week.

Not true, even at the worst of the shortage BOTH local gun stores had 9X18 ball or HP about $16 / box of 50

Are these CZ-82's worth buying? I have no experience with them but was considering buying one because of low price and relatively cheap ammo.
If I make it out to J&G Sales next week I was thinking of picking up one or 2.
9X18 Makarov Brown Bear 95GR FMJ 500rds. Price: $109.95
9x18 Makarov S&B FMJ, 250 rd cases. $79.75
9x18 Makarov Silver Bear 94gr FMJ, 50 rd boxes. Price: $11.95

Living in California I can do a face to face with my C&R at J&G in AZ. but I can't have a handgun shipped to me.
SOG says no sales to CA...... another reason I love this state.

They were the CZ clone of the Soviet Makarov. But the are made by CZ .

But my question is.............. are they worth buying? I'm assuming they must be fairly decent.

Not really....the only thing they have in common are the blowback action and 9x18 chambering....unless you consider the Ruger Blackhawk Hunter a clone of the Colt 1851 Navy.... ;D

Yes they are worth buying. They are fun to shoot and the ammo was cheap. Give it some time and the ammo price will drop back down. I like the black thumb-break holster more than the tan flap holster. I have both. :)

I was shooting at an outdoor range and someone had one. He let me see it and I liked it. He offered to let me shoot it but I didn't. He recomended them and I've been consdering buying one.

I think you are confusing these with the CZ 52, which is 7.62X25

Nope.....the only thing the CZ-82 & the Makarov have in common are:
1. They are pistols.
2. They use blowback actions.
3. They are chambered in 9x18 Makarov.
...in everything else, they are completly different designs....

Not too much 9X18 in my neck of the woods. This would make me hesitate on purchasing one. Same with the 10mm and the .45 GAP. Hell, the range I shoot at just hit the motherload on .380 and had ten boxes. I bought two. ;)
