Title: Heaven, at least for a shooter!
Post by: Timothy on October 11, 2009, 03:14:16 PM
So, I'm heading to the range a few hours ago and out my window, I hear a gunshot!  I'm about a mile from the house and I figure it's just someone sighting in a shotgun because the seasons coming and lo and behold, it's a tiny little Shooting Club with a Skeet range that I am now a member.  The dues are a bit high, 35 bucks a year and shooting is 4-5 bucks a round.  I think I can handle that!

So, now I have my rifle/pistol range about two miles from here and a skeet range about a mile down the road...

Like I said!  Heaven!

Boylston, MA.....Population 4,009........

I've only been here three weeks but I might just have to say that even though it's Massachusetts, I kinda feels lilke home!

p.s.  home would still be Michigan, even after nearly 30 years.

Until you said MA I was going to ask you if any homes were for sale in your neighborhood.   I'll pass.

Tim, I am so proud for you and your family, great house, and great ranges nearby, and island in the middle of MA. Enjoy yourselves and take advantage for as long as you can. Hopefully that is forever. How cool.  ;D

An oasis in the middle of a barren gun desert.

Nice,... Send some of that fall weather down here, we've been breaking records for a week and 1/2. :P

Ya know?

The great thing about this little range was, there were a dozen kids under thirty sitting on the table waiting to shoot.  I was taken by the fact that our youth in MA haven't swallowed ALL the crap their fed by the State!

Maybe, just maybe, we can light some fires.  On a similar note, I mentioned my BIL a whle back and we're planning a trip out to the S&W range to let him shoot and pick out something from their inventory.  TW's reports on the M&P 9 have me convinced that it might be a good fit for a new shooter.  Either way, he'll be able to shoot whatever he wants, they have a great program and I'm going to insist that he sign up for their training program as well.  Might just sign myself up too!

Uhhhh... never mind.
Coming from NJ that would be like jumping out of the pressure cooker into the friolator.
