Hey ....sorry I haven't been on for a few days,.. I don't want to whine ( but I'm going to a little bit :-\ ) but I am really sick. Hateful nasty stuff has latched a hold of me and refuses to let go..I think its in love and wants my body reeeeeealy reeeealy bad.. LOL
I'm trying to sit up long enough to get all the financial bookwork done but its a struggle. Wednesday night I started to get a kinda sore throat.. Thursday I was coughing a bit and my throat was a bit burny..but no big deal.. Friday my throat burnt and my chest was a bit heavy..and I felt all drug out and kinda body sore.. Saturday I woke up ..Mark and I had to leave by 8 to be at a stupid wedding 3 hrs away and I felt like holy crap! But I put my big girl panties on and went anyway.. without a voice! Thats right.. no voice except a slight squeak and whisper.. by 11:00 that was totally gone. So there I was.. in a room with over 400 people that I knew at least half of them and couldn't talk! Can you imagine me being in a more perfect setting for HELL ? Haven't seen some of these old friends for years..and I couldn't even whisper.. nada.. zip.. zero.. nothing. !! Just got worse as the day and night progresses...
Marshal got back Saturday night from filming and met me at the door. Did he say " ohhh honey.. I'm so sorry you are sick and you can't talk..."
Did he? Noooo... he and Mark ( for those of you who don't know it..Mark is my ex) stood there together and laughed and cracked jokes about how great it was that they had me where they wanted me.. silent and without a voice.. finally able to have some peace and quiet..
( send Marshal a congratulations card and I swear I will personally neuter all of you.) >:(
Sunday was really bad... and today my muscles feel like someone has literally beat me to frickin death with a ball bat. My throat and chest has finally stopped being on fire as of awhile ago.. and I don't actually have much of a cough unless I try to talk( which only comes out as an inaudible whisper minus every other word.. not even a squeak can be heard) I'm just weaker than a newborn kitten but I am eating good food ( even though I'm not real hungry or can't taste much) and drinking lots of water and green tea. I have not gone to the Dr.. ( don't intend to either) and have taken no antibiotics or anything. I am bound and determined to fight this with vitamins liquids and good healthy food. We'll see if my method works. If it doesn't.. I DO NOT want flowers at my service ( I will be cremated) just drink a few beers.. remember how much fun I have been and if you all get together someday.. lie and make up a sexy stories about me and tell it to each other.. hahahaha
I can say all of this cause even if I wonder if i will ever talk again or have any energy back.. you all know I will.. Hell doesn't want me and Heaven is afraid I will take over so I'm here to make you all and Marshal miserable for a long time. ( I was actually just trying to drum up some sympathy..) Every time I try to squeak out something that I don't want to write a note about or text to Marshal.. he gets this screwy look on his face ..trying not to laugh at me.. fails miserably and burst out laughing.. then tries for the next 5 minutes to apologize for laughing when he knows I"m so sick and can't communicate normally. How damned cruel is that I ask you? Do you have any idea how hard it is for someone like me who talks *quite a bit* ::) to not be able to talk,.. and going on 3 days? My god.. it is horrible torture.. and cut off from people and all outside civilization cause no one wants to be around me cause they are afraid of getting this whatever I have. I am so tired of people telling me to see a Dr.. that I have the symptoms of pig flu.. bull shit! I don't smell like bacon.. I don't have any craving for bacon.. so how can I have the swine flu? hahaha ;D ( sense of humor never leaves me. thank goodness)
Can you all tell how much I am craving interaction and communication with the outside world? my god I am babbling on like an incoherent idiot.. starved for conversations.. even if it is only with myself..
Well ...all this active one sided conversation has weakened my spirit and if I'm going to try to stay in an upright position for much longer I better try to do some constructive work.. then I'm going to go get horizontal for awhile again.. ( Haz...tt...ericire....SHUT UP..!! I mean it.. not a peep out of the 3 of you about anything to do with horizontal anything..!! Don't EVEN let those gutter filled thoughts enter your mouth on a public forum) :-X
That said.. I will go fix myself some more hot tea.. try to sit upright a bit longer before I go rest.. hopefully I will kick this in the ass and be back on here harassing you guys before long..
Behave yourselves... I can still monitor your doings.. don't forget that!

Take mega doses of Vitamin C, Zinc.... and get as much rest as possible..... Hang in there..... you will be better before you know it.

Vitamin B (all of them), Like Eric said vitamin C....Magnesium & Zinc combo will help the body absorb the others better.
Gargle with warm salt water.
Tablespoon of Honey, a tablespoon of whiskey, and a crushed peppermint all mixed together works well for the throat.
And drink lots of fluids (not beer) ;) .

I do feel for you and I actually agree about the whole 'Dr" thing. Colds and such are a virus and there just ain't much you can do except, rest, fluids and good food (and bitch a lot ;) ).

As to 'horizontal'...well, I have taken 'advantage' of some drunk chicks in my life but sick ones...I'll pass (might be catching and I too special to get sick! :) ).
Actually come to think of it tequila might be a good thing now! Hey, when ya have a cut they pour alcohol on it to kill the germs...well the germs are on the inside of you so "pour some alcohol on 'em". ;D

Get the tequila out now! I'm convinced that's what they put in Nyquil to make it work so good. Take 5 or 6 shots of Jose Cuervo and you should be pretty close to knowing for sure. ;)

Hope you get to feeling well soon Teresa. Had some crud hit me and just finished my ten day antibiotics yesterday. But I have still went to the woods twice to harvest deer. No luck as of yet but the coughing and sneezing probably gave me away.

Haven't tried this yet, but I heard once that because they can't cure a cold, you should take a shower and stand naked in front of a powerful fan to dry off. That will give you pneumonia, and - drumroll - they can cure pneumonia.
Seriously, tho, it truly sucks to be sick. :'( I hope you shake it off soon.

Actually, rather than tea, I'm a coffee with honey and liberal amounts of Bourbon. If it don't cure you, at least you don't feel it as much.
I'd cheer you up and show you my big toe that I dropped a 100 pound crate on last weekend. Been limpin' all week. BUT it's gross, so I'll just say.....

+1 on mega dosing vitamin C, +10 on hot toddies, Dark liquor, honey and lemon, you will talking in no time. Nice sleepy time too.
I don't get sick much, but at the 1st symptoms, 1000 mg of VC, per hour, and lots of fluids, Pee like hell, which is good. 2nd day, 500 mg per hour. 3rd day your feeling better.

believe it or not.. I just suddenly started to getting better this evening.. I mean it! I ate supper.. drank my tea.. took 4 advil for my muscle aches. gulped my vitamins... .and I mean even my voice is kinda coming back.. at least I can loud whisper now.. cool huh? :D

Sorry I'm a little late to the party. Glad you're already starting to feel better.
+1 on M25 and the Vit C dosing. One of our doctors would take 1000mg Vit C every hour for 12hrs at the first sign of sickness (longer if symptoms persitted). It works, he never got sick and that is the same thing I do now. Just make sure you drink lots and lots of water. Vit C is water soluble so is difficult to build toxic levels.

Oh...I almost forgot: I always gargle with hydrogen peroxide whenever I feel a sore throat coming on. Nips it right in the bud.

The Olde Irish Remedy for these sorts of situations is this: Light a candle and place it at the foot of your bed; begin drinking shots of Bushmills every 10 minutes; when you see THREE candles, blow out the middle one and retire for the night. By morning, you will not even remember you have been ill. BUT, if you still feel marginal, repeat the treatment. Good luck and be well soon. Slante.

Sorry to hear about your illness. I was off the computer yesterday. (12 year wedding anniverasry) I'm glad you're feeling better. But the big question I have is are Marshal and your ex still safe or are they putting resume's to replace Michael and Tito in the Jackson 5? (Hitting those high notes with ease now. :o)

I had a slight case of pneumonia (according to the DR.) for 5 1/2 months! Caughed so hard I pulled muscles in my back and both sides. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Don't believe they can cure Pneumonia!!!!!!!

Richard - I hope you and anyone else reading that item I posted about pneumonia knew it was intended as a joke (which is how it was presented to me). I know full well how dangerous pneumonia is. There is a tiny grain of truth in it, tho - as there is in most jokes - and that is that while there is no known cure for the common cold, there are indeed cures for pneumonia, and you, fortunately, are living testimony!
Some cancers can now be cured, as well. Nonetheless, I'd happily settle for enduring the misery of a cold any day if I had a choice between that and the other diseases.
As my dad used to say, if you have your health you have everything. Of course he didn't hanker for the Merkel side-by I've had my eye on awhile now and will have to sell my novel to the movies if I ever hope to afford.
