I remember going on a canoe trip on the Peace River in high school. We were seniors and seventeen. It was one of those deals where you rented the boats and they dropped you up stream and you floated back to the outfitters three days later. Anyway, we were indulging in a bit of Jack and extra fine Swisher Sweet Cigars and talking of old Florida around the campfire. At this point we noticed an armadillo doing its thing about ten yards away and totally ignoring us. Someone one mentions that they were called Hoover Hogs during the Depression. At which point Rach, all five foot nothing of her says, with a Brooklyn accent, "Wait, lets try that, it would be totally authentic, and daddy bought me a new toy cause he was afraid this would be like deliverance or something". She then digs in her daypack, produces a Smith .357, and fires twice without warning.
Lessons learned
1) .357 is really, really loud at 1 am out in the boondocks, and the fire ball is kind of pretty too. :-\
2) .357 hollow points are waaay too much gun for armadillo, nothing left but fur and shell
3) Never mess with short jewish girls with Israeli fathers, it will not end well. :o

IIRC it its range was less then the blast raidus... you had to dig a fox hole before you fired it

Or, just get good and drunk before hand and save yourself the work. The ultimate "Hold my beer and watch this". :-\ You were dead either way, might as well go out happy. I remember getting a series of lectures in ROTC in the late eighties about "surviving the nuclear battlefield" it focused on washing your vehicles and scrubbing yourself down with borax and taking iodine pills for radiation poisoning. The only things they forgot was to tell you to duck and cover and click your heels toghether three times. I just rolled my eyes and thought that if someone popped a nuke and my hair was falling out in handfuls, I was going to roll myself a fatty and take a nap. Send me a post card and let me know how it all worked out. There is nothing dumber than dead men killing dead men when you all have less than a thirty day life expectancy. Sorry, but my contract expired when I got a lethal dose of rads, and I figured the Sovs were smart enough to figure that out as well. What were they going to do, sentence me to death? Too late suckers. ::)
FQ13 who is not a fan of nukes, they take all the fun out of things
