If you wouldn't get laughed off the job site, our complented on your purty mouth, it seems like it would be practical for hot weather work. More air circulation than shorts and all. ;D On an historical note it is kind of funny. The short kilt is not at all traditional, and wasn't originlly in clan tartan. It was invented by an English Quaker in the 17th century to give as a cheap work garment to his textile workers and sort of became the Scotish carhardts for a while, but the upper classes wouldn't be seen dead in one. It was only after all kilts were banned, including the tradiditional long ones (also lower class garment out side the highlands, as time went by) after the '45 Rising that Scots nobility took to wearing them in England where they were still legal. This was motivated by Romanticism and a derire to say FU to the Brits. The exceptions were the highland regiments and a lot of them got tartan trousers. I don't know when the ban was lifted, but it was the the short kilt became common in Scotland

The ban on the plaid, tartan and kilts was relatively short-lived. Early in her career, Queen Victoria became enthralled by Sir Walter Scott's romantic tale of Rob Roy, and visited Scotland. After that, everyone fell all over each other getting and wearing Scots gear.
So the ban was on for maybe less than 75 years?

These are awesome but expensive. Sportkilts has some similar outdoor models for a lot less...

"I declare you the victor, bow to your awsumness sir." Fighting anybody with that is simply a violation of the "Man Code".

There was someone else making combat kilts. They came in different camouflage patterns and I think the had blue denim too. They looked good but I don't have the balls to wear one. ;)
