I'm trapped in my own house.....surrounded by 7 (count 'em 7) giant crock-pots loaded with 75 lbs of lamb......... :-X :-X :-X
I'm about to hurl......... :-X .....and if you've ever cooked lamb you know where I'm coming from........... :-X :-\ :-X :'( :-X
This stuff is ferocious.
The things I do to help the future of the nation.
It's time, once again, to cook a lamb for the FFA Ag Science's livestock production study class at our high school. I was hoping it would pass by unnoticed this year....but the Ag teacher said if we weren't able to do the cooking (because of my wife's illness), then she would call the whole thing off because she didn't want anyone else but us doing it.
So.....what was a guy to do?
You didn't think I'd bail on 'em did ya? ;)
I guess the stink's worth it..............it'll all be good in the morning anyway.....if I can just make it through the night with my guts still intact.
Then next week I get to get up at 6:00 AM and fry 4 turkeys (50 lbs worth) to go with the 30 lbs of chicken dressing, 30 lbs of tater salad, peach cobbler...........then watch it all get eaten in a matter of minutes by 40 teenagers.

Except for the ill wife,(I will say an extra "Our Father" tonight for Her) I am stating that you are a lucky man and I am jealous.
-
Feel for ya, an old GF wouldn't let me cook it inside, it was a grill only meat. But I still love the stuff. I'll trade you my lamb and barley stew recipe for yours. God luck

Had planned to cook it outside on the smoker/grill....... and in the shop, but (just like last year on that night also) the weather is not cooperating at all.
I might have to say to heck with the weather and raise some windows.

Hope y'all made it through the nght Peg.

Your work will be well appreciated. Good job Peg.

Peg, didya make it through the night? Or did you succumb to the aroma of dead sheep?
-
And what happened to the mint jelly, huh? Woulda gone a long way to have some set out adding their fragrance to the mix.

Hey Peg, how did the lamb turn out? I wish I could have been trapped with you. I'm going to grill a couple of small chops tonight and it's all your fault......Thanks! ;D

Those lamb medallions, marinated with rosemary, garlic and red wine, and grilled is AWESOME!!!
The end justifies the means.
Take Care Peg. Eat Hearty!!! ;D

Mary had a little lamb
She ate it with mint jelly
And everywhere that Mary went
The lamb went in her belly.
Once I saw a video of Sherri Lewis and lambchop and she said that poem. I was shocked. ???

I had that same thought when I read this thread. My first crush . . .

Mary had a little lamb,
It's fleece was white as snow,
And every where that Mary went,
The lamb was sure to go.
But Mary saw the price of lamb
Had soared, which didn't please her.
So tonight she's havin' leg-o-lamb
And the rest is in the freezer.
Survived the night....with the help of candles and a skunk..............................nah...I was just joking about the candles. ;D
Turned out well....better than last year.....and those young folks ate every scrap of it........voracious appetites they have.

glad it went well Peg
I hope you don't turn in to a vego though

Mary had a little lamb
It backed into a pylon
10,000 volts went up its ass
and now its wool is nylon.
