Title: Any new info. on primer shortage?
Post by: tommy tornado on November 11, 2009, 10:41:30 PM
Like when will it end?  Not too worried yet but I will probably run out of Large Pistol Primers and Small Pistol Primers some where around March, and I would hope that I could replace them by then.  Is there any new information yet on how back logged CCI, Winchester, etc. are?

I've been too busy to visit many stores, but the one I shop 60 miles away is getting more supply.  Last visit they had a pretty good supply of Federal and a few Winchesters.  Everything except small pistol.  They are limiting at 4,000 per customer, and it looked like close to 10k of each on hand.

I do not know if this helps, but the last MA gunshow there were 100K of all different primers. The catch was they were Wolf primers.I Do not have any experience with them and they were a premium but not price gouging. OF course the sales man said they were the "best ever" but best in the land of none is easy to be in 1st.

wolf is just the importer, they could have been made by lots of companys.  I have never heard anything bad about wolf primers.
