Title: Maersk Alabama repels 2nd pirate attack with guns

It looks like the Somali pirates didn't learn their lesson the first time.  This time the crew fought back with gun fire and High-Db acoustic device.  Way to go Maersk Alabama!

Excerpts:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Somali pirates attacked the Maersk Alabama on Wednesday for the second time in seven months, though private guards on board the U.S.-flagged ship repelled the attack with gunfire and a high-decibel noise device.

Four suspected pirates in a skiff attacked the ship again on Wednesday around 6:30 a.m. local time, firing on the ship with automatic weapons from about 300 yards (meters) away, a statement from the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain said.

An on-board security team repelled the attack by using evasive maneuvers, small-arms fire and a Long Range Acoustic Device, which can beam earsplitting alarm tones, the fleet said.

That's the way it should work! 8) But I don't know if you need to mess with the Acoustic Device. ;D

Ear splitting or head splitting...........use what you have available on these bastards although I'd lean toward head splitting.

Which one is Deepwater on ? He works for Mearsk if I remember correctly.

He's not on the Alabama.  I know what ship it is but I'm not sure I should post the name.

hey guys, doing fine. have you noticed that the eu naval guy says it was just by chance that this ship was hit again?
also that the sound thingy wasn't effective. only returning gunfire stopped the attack. wow. sounds straight forward to me.
anyway, I'll be off the ship in a few days! not to worry. besides, we only worry about wayword japanese navy ships and crazy North Koreans.  ;)

When dad was on the submarine, they had WWII Hand-me-down Colt .45's, Garands, and Tommys. I bet those could have repeled those pirates. ;D
