I would like to know which cal. you used, 5.45 or 7.62?

Thanks.

Glad you all liked the writeup!

As far as caliber, I was, as well as the majority of the class I believe, using 7.62x39.

Did you find either out preforming over the other?

In all honesty, I wasn't paying enough attention to the 5.45 shooters' targets to come to a conclusion with any degree of certainty.  I know that my 7.62 rifle had no problems, performance or accuracy issues, during the class for the rifle & ammo combo remained as accurate as I was throughout.

The only problems that I saw and can recall that occurred with any of the rifles during the class were:

1)  Trigger pin walked out and was lost from a Jim Fuller WASR of all rifles!

2)  Bulgarian AK-74 with a disconnecter that had failed and not allowing the trigger to reset properly.

Saving my money for a class starting the new year.

I would not waste my money on the 5.45, one of the biggest advantages of the AK is that while you are sacraficing a little accuracy you get a bigger bullet.
