Title: How NOT to handle a gun - By the President of Tactical Solutions
Post by: RTFM on May 02, 2013, 11:19:31 AM
So last night (05 02 13) I caught Shooting Gallery - don't know if was a re-run or not, but Mike had Joe Mantegna on the .22 timed segment then it moved on to guns and conversions from Tactical Solutions.

Oh My God how many time did the president of the company (can't remember his name nor do I really care) put his left hand palm first over the muzzle of EVERY GUN HE SHOWED - 1911 = CHECK, GLOCK = CHECK, Some other .22 conversion pistol = CHECK, friggin Ruger 10/22 = CHECK

On the 1911 and the GLCK he was even fingering the trigger when he was drooling on about how they make all sorts of blah blah blah - All I was waiting for was the BANG - oh crap he just put a hole through the center of his left hand.

(same episode that mike had a negligent discharge with his 10/22 and he talks about how people need to always be AWARE of proper muzzle control)

MB - I'm surprised NO ONE caught that while taping or post production.
That was one hell of a way to show people watching just how to NOT DO IT.... do as we say not as we do apparently.

Seems that leaving it in shows just how easy and quick bad things can happen if you get careless.
No matter who you are, or how long you've been around guns, an instant is all it takes .

As for the hand over the muzzle, maybe that's how he checks his chamber.   :o
If it hurts is was loaded.    ;D

Nope.
Army.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Gore#Harvard.2C_Vietnam.2C_journalism.2C_and_Vanderbilt_.281965.E2.80.931976.29

Gore had basic training at Fort Dix from August to October, and then was assigned to be a journalist at Fort Rucker, Alabama. In April 1970, he was "Soldier of the Month".[15][34]

His orders to be sent to Vietnam were "held up" for some time and he suspected that this was due to a fear by the Nixon administration that if something happened to him, his father would gain sympathy votes.[citation needed] He was finally shipped to Vietnam on January 2, 1971, after his father had lost his seat in the Senate during the 1970 Senate election, becoming one "of only about a dozen of the 1,115 Harvard graduates in the Class of '69 who went to Vietnam."[34][37][38] Gore was stationed with the 20th Engineer Brigade in Bien Hoa and was a journalist with The Castle Courier.[39] He received an honorable discharge from the Army in May 1971.[15]

My two  Navy jokes.
#1 - What is the difference between the Navy and the Coast Guard?
There is a minimum height requirement for the Coast Guard, so if the ship sinks they can walk to shore.
(OK more of a CG joke)

#2 - U.S. Submarine service - 120 men go down - 60 couples come up.
(I use to make periscope for the Navy - Ex-Army my self)

That is all.
