I believe that would qualify as a non-lethal form of defense. You wouldn't have to fire a shot, because the BG would be doubled over laughing.

Whats with the odd angled pistol grip, and that web between the pistol grip and the stock ?
I also noticed the safety / selector switch is on the RIGHT hand side.
I think the flowers on the Magazine are a nice touch ;D

I believe we have discovered the origin of the phrase... adding insult to injury. Imagine getting shot by the "Hello Kitty" edition AR. ;D I would love to put in a little time at the range with that rifle, though, just to see what kind of reactions I would get. :D

I like the AK with the knitted cover on the stock ! But I think the Owen is definitely the ugliest gun shown so far, even without the paint job.

I knew right away that Hello Kitty AR would be posted.
That's a CA legal AR15, you can't have a pistol grip and a detachable magazine on the same weapon, and that mag while it looks real is actually pinned at 10 rounds. Other ARs in CA have a pistol grip but the magazine has to be permanently fixed to the rifle or require a tool to remove it, that way you either need a screwdriver or you have to separate the upper and lower every time you reload.

Here is some more info on the Cali legal kitty gun

From what I can gather just a fella...
Makin' his way
The only way he knows how
That's just a little bit less
Than the law will allow
Actually it is a perfect example of how gun laws are virtually useless. This gun was made as a tounge and cheek F you to the anti gunners. Sorry folks, like water finding its own level, so do the rightful gun owners here in these United States.

Did you read the comments ? They seem to have several a$$ holes on that site.

I just ran into it back a couple of months ago when there was a newspaper report about how dura coat (sp.?) could make real guns look fake (there are a few pics here) as kind of a warning to LEO's and the public. It was accompanied by a pic of a pink glock (sorry glock fans). I can't remember if the hello kitty AR was included in the original or as an add-on later, but yes there are some retards that comment.
There is so much good about the internet, but there is also so much bad with it (anonymity without consequences.) Few people would have the audacity to spout off like they do in the comments if their rear-ends had to cash the check. I just thought it was informative how the guy side stepped all the Cali BS. and still has a reasonably functional AR even if the stock is a bit weird.

Actually I think the pink AR is well done with the white highlights. If a guy showed up at the range with it he would be laughed out of town, but if his daughter or wife had it it would draw complements ;D

I still think that there will be uglier DuraCoat entries out there that we still have yet to see that will win the day.
I find it very interesting how quickly this thread digressed into an exhibition of those out there who have more DuraCoat then they do brains...... or maybe they just have too many guns on their hands....... hard to tell, but its still fun to see all of these monstrosities.

We've got a cool contest coming up on DRTV, if Marshal and I can ever come up with 10 minutes spare time to get it put together.
In short, you all get to vote on the COLOR of my next 1911! We're going to give you a choice of the entire spectacular pallet of the DuraCoat BLOOMBERG COLLECTION:
http://www.lauerweaponry.com/duracoatcolors.cfm?colortype=bloomberg&Category=245
And, yes, you can MIX AND MATCH! Manhattan Red slide/Queens Green frame...Staten Island Orange...the sky's the limit, probably because Steve Lauer at DuraCoat is...different...
The winner gets his/her gun DuraCoated in whatever relatively sane color he/she would prefer!

French Chatellerault LMG Model 1924 modified 1929 in 7.5x54 mm Mod 1929 C.
By the way, not many people know that the Brno factory was set up by French who helped the Czech establish their own weapons manufacturing facility right after WW1, the ZB 26 and ZB 30 are kinda cousins of the LMG 1924 and the Hotchkiss 1922, both derived from the CSRG 1915 Chauchat concept that did not deserve the bad reputation it got in most writings.

That's in the same category as the Liberator, the glove pistol, and the sheet metal .45 semi-auto. All four are ugly, but good enough to asassinate someone with.

WW-II "Liberator" Pistol.
The Liberator, built by the Lamp Division of GM, holds the dubious honor of being the only gun that could be manufactured faster than it could be reloaded.
Here's an uncluttered view.

If ever any gun needed Duracoat, this one did!
-
Depending on who you ask they cost less than $1 each to over $2 each. Most figures I hear are $1.42 or something like that. I like the cartoon type instructions and wooden stick for an ejector that came with it. :) The Guide Lamp Division is also famous for churning out M3/M3A1 Grease Guns. Those are ugly guns too.

The 6 rounds of ammo that came with cost more and took longer to make than the gun did. But it worked.

According to the book American Tools of Intrigue, by John A. Minnery & Joe Ramos,
Section 1 on F.P. 45 Liberetor: The Gun That Didn't Win The Western Front;
The one million pistols were completed by the fall of 1942, at a cost of $1.72 per pistol.
The finished weapons were individually packaged in waxed carboard boxes... containing in addition to the pistol:
(a) 10 rounds of .45 ACP ammo
(b) Sheet of comic strip instructions in sign language
(c) Wooden ramrod for ejecting spent casings
(d) A wood spacer block to keep the parts from rattling
The total wartime cost for the package was $2.10.
The F.P. 45 project was referred to as a flare projector to throw any spies off track while it was being designed and built. All 10 rounds could be stored in the grip via a trapdoor on the bottom. They were trying to make them for under $1 but it went a little over budget. There were at least 6 variations but the most common is the third model. There was a two-shot version with a sliding breechblock. Silenced versions also exist. I wish I could scan my book and upload it. There are 46 pages on the Liberator including blueprints of every part. There's a picture of one with a silencer on it and the two-shot version too.

Thanks for the link. I found the instructions online too.

In the post-war years, my father worked in the aerospace industry and one of his coworkers in the mid 60's at Lockheed was a former OSS major. From talks with the major, the Liberator pistol concept had been "floating around" in military circles since 1940 when it was apparent that France would collapse. But no real action occurred until mid 1941 when a crude prototype was fabricated by U.S. Army armorers. All this remained dormant until December of 1941. By February, OSS had a specification and let out an RFP (request for proposal). By April, three samples were produced with the GM Guide Lamp being given the go-ahead and, by August of '42, just over 1 million were produced.
The original plan was to ship these to England and add them to para-dropped supplies to the resistance. The intended purpose was to provide resistance members a crude, concealed gun that could be used up-close against a Nazi solider. The resistance member would then take the soldier's rifle and equipment. By 1942, however, Allied intelligence realized they had underestimated the ingenuity of French civilians who were obtaining arms on their own.
The plan was re-thought and the decision made to hold on to the FP-45 "Liberator" pistols until just before an Allied invasion of "Fortress Europe". Using the pistols for the invasion of Sicily and Italy in '43 were dismissed, in part, because of the fear of arming Italian "mafia" types might pose a danger to U.S. troops and because the Italian underground was much less organized than the French.
By late '43, it was obvious that the French resistance was able to obtain almost any weapons they needed and the use of "liberated" German equipment was preferred, to use the available German ammunition supplies. Meanwhile, progress in the Pacific suggested that the Liberator could be used to good effect in the Philippines. Most Liberator pistols were loaded aboard transport ships in early 1944 and sailed west.
The Philippine invasion was coming. We knew it, the Filipinos knew it and the Japanese knew it. But a decision was made not to para-drop the Liberator pistols because many were likely to be recovered by the Japanese due to the forests and it would disclose the "secret" invasion.
At the end of the war, when no further use could be seen for the pistols, their salvage value was nil and orders came through to dispose of the guns. Most were dumped into the sea where the salt water would make short work of them.
Stamped, bare finish sheet metal, spot welded, smoothbore, single-shot, ungainly and difficult to reload.
It still wins as the "ugliest gun" I've ever seen. ;D

I'm guessing this is the only one in the world. If you use the brass knuckles both the knife and the cylinder are pointed at you... the inventor was creative, if none-to-bright, and probably died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound during testing.

What is the story on that one Walter?
I'd love to see it .. own it ;D

Ugliest gun I have is an old Rohm .22 revolver. Works fine though.
Epitome of the Detroit SNS. Was my Dad's poker gun. Saved his life. Twice.
I tried taking a pic, but the camera refused.

We can't have guns like that in Kalifornia. We still have an AWB. Our state is like a taste of what the nation will be like in a couple of years under Obama.

Wow! That engraved Steyr may really be the winner. I hate gold on guns anyway, then to add the engraving. It looks like the artist knew what he was doing …but on a plastic gun?!
When I was young and dumb, I thought about having snake scales engraved on my Colt Anaconda. So I made it to older and still kinda dumb, but I'm glad I didn't get any engraving done on it.

Daaaaaaaamn! I thought that this was an ugly gun thread. There are very few things prettier than a fine shotgun. I personally prefer an O/U but I'd be happy to find a place for that classic side by side if you want to send it my way. Engraving does belong on a fine shotgun.

I believe we can blame MB for this. He's always the one mentioning velociraptors. And from there we can plainly see that scales are the next logical progression.
IMHO though, the scales are on the lowest of the stated "art" crimes against guns. The Kimber is not bad at all. They just need to send it with a commemorative Gadsden flag and I believe hardly anyone would complain.

Hunting or Hunted. There are good ole color blind boys around here who would thing it was a rack and start shootin at where the rest of the deer should be.
This is a true story. A few years back, a deer hunter wash shot out of a tree by someone turkey hunting. Cut him up with BBs from a 12 ga. Sad part is he shot him again while the victim was squirming around in the brush. Thankfully it was cold and his layers of coats kept it from killing him.

Don't be "dissing" the Borchardt, that was the first major pistol design that George Luger worked on, his contribution, if I remember correctly, was the toggle action, which he perfected on this pistol before using it on his own PO-8 design.

and a Glock 26 ;D

and a Glock 26 1911 ;D
YES I DID. (no tux ) MIL hated me up till then. ;D
-
I actually didnt carry a gun at my wedding (didnt have permit then, and its illegal to carry in a church here unless you get written permission)
.... But my wife's uncle did open his coat and show me the snubbie he had in his waist band.... he told me if I didnt treat her right, I would be answering to him.

Mine wasn't in a Church, but we don't have that regulation here. Because of things the MIL had said I joked that if she touched the knife for the wedding cake I was dropping her on the spot.

I wore my Colt Detective Special in a shoulder rig to my wedding... ;D ;D ;D

I thought you said in another post yer 'permit' was restricted to 'hunting and fishing'.
-
Nope Haz, I have a Full Carry, I said some judges will restrict them for that usually if you put "hunting and Target" on the what do you want this permit for line. I put Hunting,Target and SELF PROTECTION. so they gave me a full carry.

COOL! You and I both know we shouldn't have to have a permit that alone give reasons!

I like the wood furniture.
A few other points:
I wore a blue tux to the prom and a suit at my wedding then changed to casual for the reception.
I didn't get married in a church, but at the sportsman club and some of the guest and wedding party spent time shooting.
At my friends wedding the wedding party were packing pint bottles in the jacket pockets and purses. The bride came from a family of 5 girls and they all liked to drink.........alot.

Now, I know you were thinking. "I could see myself carrying that!" ;D ;D ;D
-
I was reading the details at the link, these 2 are not actually "gold", they are Titanium Nitride (TiN ) which, while still looking like something a New Orleans pimp would carry at least has the advantage of being a wear resistance coating used on cutting tools that could actually be useful on INTERNAL parts, and frame rails. As far as using it for a finish, well, a solid even coat looks better than "tiger stripe" or 2tone, but it still looks like something that would be owned by a pimp, or 3rd world dictator.

Don't worry it will win some magazine award someplace.
You can practice just like your AR 15 except for the safety, ...and the magazine....and the charging handle...and the manual of arms....
Before I sound too negative it probably is a decent shooter. Ruger does know something about .22 weapons

That carbine's neat! The revolver looks a little heavy for starters... Probably NOT a "pocket gun".

Yeah, but it is a semi-auto revolver which is just cool in my book. Would love to have one.

WEBLEY .455 MK I PISTOL
http://www.probertencyclopaedia.com/cgi-bin/res.pl?keyword=Webley+.455+Mk+I+Pistol&offset=0
The Webley .455 Mk I Pistol was a British semi-automatic pistol in service with the British navy from 1915 to 1950. The Webley .455 Mk I Pistol was chambered for the .455 Webley and Scott cartridge which it took from a 7-round magazine and had a 5-inch barrel.

This would be REALLY nice on a pair of old dueling pistols, I love the work.
But an MP 5 ? ???
-
I agree. It's nice engraving but it's on the wrong gun.
-
You really are a negative SOB Tom. A normal glock or MP-5, the best you can do is shoot them. These though, are genuis. Once you're out of ammo, you can still ugly them to death. ;D
FQ13
PS The bow posted above isn't really ugly per se. Why? All the extra wheels limbs and stuff serve (in theory) a practical purpose. That doesn't make it ugly, just different. True ugly is when you start to put pimpware on an otherwise functional weapon. Just mho. Maybe I've read too much Ayn Rand, but I really believe form follows function. If its the best at what it does, it ain't ugly.

Looks like some type of Webley. That short a barrel must have made the ejector a PITA since you have very little leverage.

I am going on the record that this pistol is very much liked by myself

I've never fired a Webley so I will leave it at "it's ugly" ;D

I can compare it to shooting a paper cartridge 45-70. Just cool. Not anything else in the pro column. But that is all that is needed. 8)

I'm guessing something French. Yes, lumpy like a Webley but with that certain incredibly ugly flair that only the French can produce.
And apparently it's a .380 - who else but the French would produce a revolver for the .380 ACP? ;D

Is that the British "Welrod" suppressed pistol ?
Bingo, sir....we have a winner! :D
http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg217-e.htm
Welrod Mk.II Welrod Mk.I
Type Single Action manually operated
Caliber(s) 7.65x17 / .32 ACP 9x19
Weight unloaded 1090 g 1500 g
Length 310 mm 360 mm
Barrel length 95 mm (less silencer)
Magazine capacity 8 rounds 6 rounds
Welrod pistol was developed in UK by Special Operations Executive (S.O.E.), a government organisation which was tasked with intellegence, diversions and other special operations as well as support of the various anti-Hitler resistance movements in occupied Europe. Most of such operations were clandestine by nature and required special equipment, including special weapons. The ordinary silencers for semi-automatic pistols were well known and well developed by the WW2, but there still was the sound of the reciprocating slide during the discharge of the pistol, which was quite audible at night or in other 'quiet' environments. To solve this problem, British engineers decided to use manually operated action for the proposed gun. Early prototypes of the new silenced weapon were developed during second half of the 1942, with first prototypes tested in early 1943, in 9x19 Luger and 7.65x17 Browning calibers. Mass production of the 7.65mm Welrod pistol, officially known as Welrod pistol, Mark II, commenced in late 1943, and Birmingham Smal Arms Co, Ltd (BSA). Total number produced is unknown, but some sources stated that at about 14 000 of Welrod Mk.II pistols were produced. Production of the larger, more powerful and more effective 9mm Welrod Mk.I commenced in 1944, on request of the British Special operations forces. The latter model survived for a quite long time, and some 9mm Welrod Mk.I pistols were apparently still in operational use by British Special Operations forces as late as in 1991, during the operation Desert Storm.
During WW2, some Welrod pistols were also air-dropped to european resistance groups, most notable to Denmark. During the same period, Welrod pistols in .32 / 7.65mm were also purchased and later manufactured in USA, apparently to complement more fast-firing but certainly more noisy and less effective Hi-Standard HDM silenced pistols.
The Welrod pistol is manually operated firearm that uses rotary bolt locking with dual locking lugs. Bolt rotation and pull / push actions are controlled by user's hand through the large round knob located at the rear of the tubular receiver. Trigger is of single action type, striker-fired. A simple automated grip safety is provided at the rear of the magazine housing / grip base. On 9mm Mark I pistols, a conventional trigger guard and a manual safety were added for improved user safety. The detachable single stack magazine also served as a pistol grip, and its bottom part was enclosed into the rubber cover to provide more or less comfortable hold of the gun. The integral silencer was located in the front part of the tube, which also served as a receiver. Barrel was ported at the front, with its ported part wrapped by layers of fine mesh. Ahead of the muzzle, there were several baffles and three rubber washers, all separated by spacers. Before use, whashers had no holes to provide bullet passage, and were penetrated during the first shot. The idea of the rubber washers was to capture as much powder gases ias possible within the silencer body, and service life of these washers was no more than 10-15 rounds, after which silencer effectiveness detoriated quickly. Worn washers were replaced during disassembly of the silencer. The 9mm Mark I Welrod pistol was different in the fact that it has its frontal silencer part made as a separate unit, which was screwed onto the receiver before use. This made the gun better suited for carry and concealment during transportation through enemy territory - an useful feature for a gun that was 36 cm / 14.2 " long when ready to use.

Eric, I think you win. I mean, I have to take a breath before I go all Ayn Rand circa "The Fountainhead". Form follows function. In this case, form follows the speed crazed imaginings of a 12 year old wanne be mall ninja. What part of concealable do you fail to get? If I needed half that crap, I'd carry my AR, or a folding 12, and with a duster, it would probably be more concealable. ;D This one takes the prize, because its not just a crime against asthetics, but common sense. "Fix Bayonets!... Sound of pocket knives being attached to J-frames, followed by peals of laughter from the enemy ranks." ;D ::) ::) ::) ::)Oi, vey!

I'll bet money it was a Latino of some sort.
It's not a racist comment FQ,
The style of the work, and the Catholic influence in the grip carvings rules out most of Asia, which would have been far less likely to get here, Same with Africa, the Style is wrong and the chances of it winding up here are lower than the North South traffic that currently makes up a large portion of our political debate.

You racist bastard! How dare you suggest a 1911 engraved with pot leaves and a Grim Reaper (tactical) grip, sold out of Texas might possibly be tied to Mexican gang. I am shocked, shocked, that you don't understand that guns only flow South, not North. Get with the program ese. ;D
FQ13 ;D ;D ;D ;D

Awkward as hell, but when firing it should be fairly stable since the recoil impulses are canceling each other out.

Goncz GA (Custom Shroud)
The Goncz GA pistol seen fitted with a TEC-9 style barrel shroud is used by several characters in the film including Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Lori (Sharon Stone), and various characters throughout the film. This was confirmed by the armorers who worked on the film and the gun's later copy (the Claridge Hi-Tec series) was not manufactured when the film was made.
