Title: How Embarrasing
Post by: alfsauve on June 04, 2020, 08:20:25 AM
The local PD (Marietta, GA) just capture the "suspected" leader of the local, violent and notorious Ghost Face Gangsters.   One of the counties most wanted criminals.

Quote
According an announcement from Marietta Police, Lynwood Bonner is a leader in the gang and was found to be trying to hide a criminal operation out of a hotel room .....

...the law enforcement agency said officers recovered 95.5 grams of meth, 2 grams of marijuana, 145 Alprazolam pills, a Hi-Point 380 caliber pistol and a Henry 22 caliber survival rifle, which had been stolen.
(emphasis mine)

Crime is just rampart around here.  The boyz in the ATL have got to be ROFL at this.

ME:   I'm just embarrased for the poor guy.  Really?  A Hi-Point 380 and an AR7?

Jeez.    ::)
Real criminal mastermind. I don't know about meth, but isn't 2 grams of weed almost enough for 2 joints ?
I would like to get an Armalite   AR - 7.
It's the red headed bastard of survival rifles.
Armalite introduced it until ATF shut down the pistol version.
Charter Arms was making them for a while .
Now Henry is taking a whack at it.

USPSA guys chuckle when a criminal "armory" is located... 500 rounds of this, 200 of that...and I'm sitting there with 275 pounds of 9mm brass, 5000 primers, 8 pounds of WSF, and 7000 135's from Bayou... and wondering if I have enough for the rest of the years shooting...

Sounds like the frantic ravings of Barney Fife about the wanton shooting of  milk bottles on porches with BB guns foretelling the coming apocalypse.

My Dad is like the rest of us.
He has a High Point carbine with a red dot that's fun shooting.
So he sees a sale flyer and now and then orders a couple boxes.
Last summer he had to prepare to evacuate because of wild fires.
Discovered he had over 1000 rounds of 9 mm stashed here and there.   ;D

It's like it just , happens.   ;D

I'm about that way with .38spl.   Except I have about twice the primers in both small and large.  A little short of bullets though.

I'm using some 6' cabinets from Home Depot for ammo storage.  I had re-enforced the shelves by adding vertical pieces of 3/4" ply either side and middle, but still got wondering about the weight.   I knew I was way over the factory recommendation for the cabinet of 250#s.  I weighed all the ammo last year.  At the time it was a measly 630#.   I think I'm a little over that now.  But the first indoor competition (IDPA) is back on tonight so that'll be 120rounds less.  ;)

My postman loves me.... I just got a shipment of .45 lead projectiles from T&B. The size of the boxes vs the weight of the boxes is deceiving.  ;D

Maybe he borrowed his grandma's guns until he could sell more dope and buy his own.  ;D

When I know bullets are arriving, I leave the hand truck by the mail box.    Dan, my mailman, is pro-2A, so he's always delighted when I get more bullets.

I'm OK on 32 Acp, 9 & 10 mm,
But I need at least 1 box of .357 and I should get some more .5.56.

I've been fooling with the Recover Tactical brace so much (I just ordered a second one), I'm dipping into my factory ammo supply... if the 45 degree offset mount works, I think I have my goal achieved... and will then be looking for the next project

on an aside note, while looking at some retail gun sites for a Ruger PC Charger, noticed that the 10/22 Chargers were now optioned with a 1913 rail on the rear so you could attach a brace... would have saved me the cost of the PMACA chassis

We have an open yard and the house is 200' from the mailbox.....mine just drives right up to the back deck.  ;D

I'm fortunate enough that the UPS guy on this route will put it inside the house for me if I'm away....!!!!

Last order of ammo I got the UPS guy left a soaked box by my door and hauled ass.
But, there were 6 boxes in a 5 box order, so I called it a win.    ;D
But I still think they suck to deal with.
