Title: Just thinking about riots and defense
Post by: TAB on August 06, 2020, 01:23:25 PM
The dim light that is above my head got a little brighter for a second.

A Ithaca auto burglar would be an awesome tool for sd.    Yes, its only 2 shots, but 2 20 ga higher # bird shot at bad breath distance would be devastating.  That and sight of what most people would think is a "sawed off shot gun" would make most people run away. Giving you time to either gtfo or draw side arm.  Also you would not have to worry about over penetration.

The nfa needs to go.

Shockwave type pistol shot guns are the same darned thing, in a repeater.
You can thank T/C and the 45/410 Contender for that.
And the freaking NFA restrictions on SBR, and SBS became outdated.
They really only apply to antiques, because now you can just buy anything as a dedicated "pistol", add a "brace", and VIOLA !
Other than machine guns and bombs what's the darned point ?
It just irritates me .   Not that I let it show.     ;D

That right there, "The nfa needs to go", is the key to all we support.

This Act is the model for all gun control, and it is just as bad and anything passed since or in the works and wet dreams of anti-gunners.

It is nothing but a limit, with attempt to eliminate, items based on name, cross over to military, or emotions.  Worse of all, it set the precedence to tax firearms, accessories and ammunition out of reach, and to set hurdles and burdens of proof of deserving and need to even use (see Illinois FOID).

Oh yeah, I forgot binary triggers making the Machine gun restrictions about pointless as well.
On the other hand, you're all bitching about ammo scarcity and prices, think what it would be like if every one was trying to feed Thompsons, Uzi's and MG 42/MG-1's    ;D

I picked up a 12ga Mossberg Shockwave ... couple of comments... if the Clint Smith (Thunder Ranch) video is still on youtube take a look at it... most people that try to shoot from the hip impact very high... you need to extend it out and sight down the barrel... a hand strap from the pommel sling swivel, adjusted so you can slip your hand through enough that the strap is tight to the web of your thumb and forefinger, and still reach the trigger greatly reduces gun movement in your hand.... I put the shorter side saddle on to not interfere with shucking the action

it was virtually impossible for me to hold  a Rem 870 shockwave with a glossy finished wooden grip

I went through a series of trial solutions for the "truck gun"... and the shockwave was a contender, as were two 5.56 options ... a 7.5 and a 10.5" along with a 8" AR9... I settled on the Recover Tactical brace, with the fore grip/mag holder I have 36 rounds on the G17 with Vortex Venom, in a very compact platform
