Anyone use wolf in there ar's if so is it any good.

I would not shoot wolf in any of my guns...
Some people do and love it, I'm not one of them.

Not so much "love", just used it, used to be cheap (not to mention available) and my 223's never hiccuped with it.

the most common arguments against using Wolf in an AR are the steel casing, which supposedly accelerates wear on your chamber, and the coating which just leaves a bunch of gunk in your gun. No one seems to complain about putting the same thing in an AK.
I've never used it in my AR, but use it in my AK all the time, but that's mostly because I had found a decent source of cheap 223. It's long gone now, though.

Wolf runs fine in my AR. Being steel, the local indoor range will not allow it.

Steel casings like Wolf are not hard enough to increase wear on your chamber. However, steel casings do not expand as well as brass when fired, this allows gases to escape around the casing causing gunk to build up in the chamber. This is why people with chambers reamed to tighter tolerances (such as many AR's) have problems while those using it in AK's and other East European arms (looser tolerances) don't. Best advice is to try it, if it works OK for a hundred or so rounds you should be OK.

AK's...yes AR's...no. I've shot them in both with no problems. AK's seem to like them better.

I was convinced to try the Wolf ammo after a large quantity was purchased by our premier LEA team. I will NEVER put it through my AR ever again. As far as accuracy, it was OK. :-\ BUT I experienced a few, and not minor problems. 1st was a feeding issue. Steel is not a slippery as brass, and I would have rounds hang up in my magazine and only half feed into the chamber. This required me to remove the mag and clear the malfunction. Second, they are underpowered. This would result in short stoking of the bolt and create more feeding problems. And last, I found them to be EXTREMELY dirty. I found that it took me nearly double the time to clean my rifle after shooting the Wolf ammo as opposed to brass cases.
That being said, if you are shooting it through an AK or SKS, it is probably as good as anything out there. Wolf is a Russian company, and as such developed the ammo to work with those specific rifle types.

Thanks for the info, I almost bought 1000rd case of the crap for my AR's. So I only got 500rd for my mini14 that eats it up no questions asked.

I prefer either Federal Lake City XM193 5.56 or PMC .223....I just picked up a thousand rounds of each a few weeks ago and you can get it for around $7.49 per 20 round box for the PMC and $8.25 per 20 round box for the Federal if you keep your eyes peeled for deals and sign up for e mail notification alerts. Both rounds run beautifully and burn far cleaner than Wolf. I'm not a fan of steel cased ammo either.

Compare the size of the extractor on the AK to an AR. The Soviets learned the hard way in The Great Patriotic War.
That brass is better used else where then on small arms ammo. The AK is made to fire and extract the steel cased ammo. The AR more then likely never fired a steel cased round until the import of this type of ammo in the 1990s. I have yet to brake an extractor on an AR buy firing the wolf ammo but I have read on the Internet that this could happen. I know there is an updated extrator for the AR, I will get one for My Colt A2 one of these days.

I shoot a good amount of Wolf, and I just check to make sure my extractor is in good shape when I clean the AR. If it gets to be in poor shape, I'll pop another one in. Wolf works fine in my rifle, but I'm not buying any more at these prices.
