What Good is a Single Handgun
« on: July 08, 2008, 08:09:48 PM »
People look at me and my family funny when we say things like this writer does.. they say "you are unpatriotic... you would fight our own American leaders ? you would fight against your own country ?    They seem to have trouble telling the difference...

Well... if the scenario we have so long expected does arrive, and we must once again earn our rightful freedom... this time from domestic rather than foreign enemies.. I would prefer it start now~~ in MY time .. and soon, (as well it may)  so that I can take part, and be more assured of the outcome.  By so doing, than leaving it to my children, or their children , to pay the price and our chance of re- affirming our God given condition, which is greater than it will be in the future when we are fewer in number, more regulated..as we are increasing. And depending how this election turns.. you ain't seen nuthin' yet..... and have had another generation or more of conditioning.

This guy explains it well..... and I think we are in for a lot worse than the Clinton's miserable misguided management. Which sparked the warning flares in his mind....... and soon.... still, if it must happen~~~ and it WILL,, for these sort of people arise in every era and every society... and our  sybaritic, indolent society, with its desire for comfort and safety at all costs, and its growing sense of entitlement is ripe  for such a plucking.  If one cannot see that a classic megalomaniac is arising at this moment, then  it becomes all the more likely --if it must happen.... let it be now... while I am still standing.

"Just Say NO" takes on a whole new meaning after you read this...

You know what I fear ?    I fear dying and not confident that I am leaving the same free life to my children and descendants that I have enjoyed. I fear sometime down the years, they will be falsely imprisoned, or prevented from free association, or worshiping as they choose.. or from having children,.... or from living where they wish, or from being able to move from place to place without being harassed and questioned... or they will find that the greater part of the product of their efforts shall go to those who produce only rules... and to those who produce little or nothing except support for the rulers..

That is what I fear... greatly....
I have little confidence in the longevity of our Republic in its present state.. which , even so , is an eroded one compared to the original plan...

Thus , as scary as it would be...an overt challenge to the system we presently enjoy would be welcome now... a chance to reaffirm where WE, the people , stand... and hopefully ...such demonstration would ensure another 200 years or more before anyone would be as foolish as to again mount an assault on our freedoms such as they are.

This is a very good article. It is very long.. and is somewhat 'dated' (the Clintons are no longer in power) but this is just as applicable today & maybe even more important with the presumptive democrat candidate standing a good chance of being elected.

This was posted on a friend's blog and well worth your time to read every word.

Regardless of the country, its another lesson from the greatest generation. The Will to stand up for what is right, in the face of great  odds, even oppression, can make all the difference.

Thank you again Marshal'ette.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Who will Guard the Guards? Is it yours and my job to do so?

You're Damn right. I wish so much that our grandfathers had more of an influence on people of my age. The WWII vets and era seemed not to be plagued by these questions and knew who the real guardians of peace and who controled the outcome of situations that would effect our lives.

One handgun against an army may not do it, but a million handguns against an army may just be enough. (The handgun could be a metafore for anything)

Thank you Mrs. 'Ette that was really something that I wish everyone could read.
Did we win???

Huzzah!  Now I have a treatise to stockpile weapons!
The person who has nothing for which his is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

;) Reminds me of something I read on a post somewhere, about democracy being two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch, and liberty being a well armed lamb contesting the vote. ;D
Children, pets, and slaves are taken care of. Free Men take care of themselves.
