Tom,
For a quality 7.62 AK, I would stick with any of the Eastern Europe kits (Bulgarian, Romanian, E. German, Polish, etc.)  My 74 in the previous picture is built from a new Bulgarian parts kit and has shown some outstanding accuracy potential.

I would also recommend either the Arsenal SLR series or the VEPR's.  Both are very high quality products.

KPR, you say your AKs not good with wolf ammo? As you can see I have kinda a cheapo Rommy and it is suprisingly accurate with wolf cheap FMJ. Funny how these AK style rifles are with diff. ammo. I have only shot out to 100m with iron sites, but its a bowling pin eating machine. The pic is not accurate, I took off the reflex site and put a 42mm red dot from NcStar, the reflex is on my AR now. Mine was great right out of the box, (lucky) my friends say. I like it well enough to want another, next will have all wood furniture, as close to original as I can get. Jim Fuller makes some awsome AK rifles.

I guess not good is relative.  Closer to 4-5 MOA at 100.

Hey guys,

I'm getting my first AK 47.  I live in AZ and will be getting my rifle from Derek at AZEX Arms.  Will be in 7.62x39mm.  When I get it in a couple of weeks I'll post some pics. and let you know how it shoots.  Derek has a good rep as a quality builder.  Check him out if you are in the market.  BTW I am not affliated with his shop in any way.  Just giving my 2 cents. :D  I had a really good experience at his shop.

My Yugoslavian M70ab2 under folder with bayonet and 30 round BHO magazine...bought @ a Valley Forge, PA gun show in March of 2006 for $450...a CIA build using a DCI receiver. Very accurate with Wolf 7.62x39 ammo...

Comrades, get a Saiga in 7.62x39 then build it the way you want or you could get it in .223. I have 4 Saiga 2 rifles and 2 shotguns they are sweet

Hokie brand loyalties are no match for a Saiga 12 at your side kid!
