If these are current equipment movements it is possible that they are just returning or replenishing National Guard equipment that was shipped to the sandbox.  Keep in mind that if they are headed west, the west coast is the way to Alaska and Hawaii (both green camo areas), and the west coast is the staging area for Asian preparedness.

It seems that most of these extremely long trains are headed to California.  There is another video of some kid filming some military trucks that are stopped in a parking lot that are headed towards California and then someone else acts pissed that he is filming.  And all of these videos are very recent, like as of this month.  It just all seems fishy.  If you go to youtube and type something like "military equipment transported" or "military equipment on train" etc...  you get the idea.  There seems to be an influx of like videos from many different sources.  It seems that the same train shipment has been video taped in a few different states by different people on its journey.

that could make sense.  I would assume that something like what you are saying is the destination.  Who knows what is on the horizon with the world scene being so dynamic and hostile right now.  Then you add in some of the leaders that we have....  You just never know so it never hurts to question and be aware.   This translates to our everyday lives too.  IE: don't be in condition White, we should at least carry yourself in condition Yellow as responsible citizens.

To the original post. I wouldn't sweat it based on that. It happens all the time. They get refitted and shipped back to replinish some TO&E. Can't go back to Iraq and alot of NG and AR units are told to leave equip in place for replacements when they rotate back. Gotta put the stuff somewhere.. I never noticed that the color mattered much, either. It's not like you're gonna sneak up on anybody in a "Humvee" anyway.
The O promised an enhanced presence in the Pacific. They could be going to Lewis or Irwin, or even back to the P.I. for that matter..

I've been out for 20 years now. I didn't know we still ran Bradleys.. And 113s, huh? Can anybody tell me why we're still running 113s?

If they try to deploy domestically, it's anybodys guess as to what to expect.. I still can't "visualize" that happening.. I can imagine/intellectualize, but I'm sure I'd stand there with my mouth open if I actually saw it..

Something no one else has mentioned is foreign sales. We sell a butt load of equipment to other countries and Ca. would be a logical destination for it what with being on the coast and having large ports.

Don't forget the ITV (Improved TOW Vehicle) it was phased out in '94 and they sent us packing, mostly to Bradley Fighting Vehicle.  13 tons of fun...

Cleaned them up spotless, SGT was a wee bit over zealous with his pre-inspection.  Passed inspection with flying colors then loaded them up and sent them downrange at Ft. Carson where they were used as HARD TARGETS!  I got out immediately after that....

     having worked at a Military supply base, various bases has specific job abilities , Dependeing on what is needed and/or wanted to be done to any vehicle determines what base it goes to for the Mods/repaint or overhauls. Europe had at least 2 different paint schemes and the unit or command would order what scheme went on before shipment. Some bases are strictly storage facilities with minor repair capability. 1 Base may overhaul and then be transported to another base for Paint jobs and then another for storage.

     Those funny looking trucks (not quite 2 1/2 types) people see on the Interstate Highways were intended originally for Bosina/Serbia type duty since the roads are narrow. These types of vehicles are also subject to people panicing over "the new world order"  take over theroy. Tell these people that the vehicles are for the Baulkin area and they don't believe you. These vehicles have a Green Camo  and Desert paint scheme.

Saw some of those bout two weeks ago.. I thought they might have been somebodys idea of diplomatic relations, buying stuff from overseas.. Thanks for filling me in on that thing.. Did we build it or buy it over there somewhere?
Reminded me of Europe or old Soviet era stuff. We picked up an old (pet) East German truck in Kuwaitt in 91. I hated driving that bastard...
