I am a new member and just read this forum.  Glad I joined.  I am a Marine, love tequila, beer, guns and horses.  Seeing the recipe reminds me of the saying about ruining good whiskey by mixing with coke.  Since I live somewhat close to the Mexican border I can get good tequila.  If you can find El Jimador, Tequila Reposada, get it, better than Cuervo any day.  Also try Tequila Sauza.  Mexico does not export it's really good tequila.  Those two are cheaper than Cuervo.

The recipe sounds interesting but having tried so many different combinations, I'll pass and let the young ones try it.  I like my tequila straight, no lime or salt (with good tequila you don't need them).  Also like my Crown Royal, straight, no mixing.

My horse's name is Azteca.  My Ar's name is "Hillary" and my burro's name is "Slick Willy".  I wonder if I am insulting my burro.

No longer lean and mean but still all Marine.

The 4th is coming up quickly.  My favorite cocktail begins with nine bushels of corn and two bushels of rye.  Soak one bushel each of of corn and rye and start the sprouting process ... is this forum public ... after adding a little fresh fruit to the bottom of each jar you will have a cocktail appealing to the taste of anyone.

Welcome Desert Marine!

I agree with the tequila advice.   I drink my alcohol "neat" but every now and then a margarita hits the spot.

Hello Desert Marine, welcome and thank you for your service to this country. No other forum is quite like this one, and you are among  some of the finest on any forum

I like my Crown on the rocks. had to give up tequila in the 90's. Something in the agave effects my DNA,  8)

I don't think your insulting your burro, he probably is more loyal, trustworthy, and has more class. ;D

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Well DM, you are as welcome here as a hot buttered biscuit at breakfast. Glad to have another vet. Plenty of VERY smart people here(I'm not on the list, but I love to learn) who are always eager to greet and talk about dern near anything worth your attention. Your Burro, Slick Willie, do you need to kind of keep an eye on him sometimes, to keep him in line? Then he is properly named. Welcome.

Thanks RonJ and Twyacht and DDMack.

That is true about the burro being more loyal than Slick Willy.  No girls around so I don't have to worry about him.  He sure is noisy around feeding time.

I have slowed down on the shooting.  Do mainly rifles in .270, .308, 300WSM and AR.  Pistols in .357 and 1911.  And of course .22's, Rugers, semi-auto pistol and 10-22.  Used to do a lot of 22-250 and .223 in heavy varmit rifles but going for light rifles now and tactical type AR's.
