The Best Defense Survival #3 – With Special Guest Dr. William Aprill

This week Michael Janich, Rob Pincus, Mike Seeklander, Michael Bane and Dr. Aprill address how mindset changes as we head into the peak of the epidemic. We also talk about the things you and your family can do right now to get ready for the upcoming weeks.

More than a decade ago, TBD/SURVIVAL did a deep dive into pandemics and how Americans might protect themselves. Now that what we discussed in the abstract has come to pass, the TBD/SURVIVAL TEAM — Michael Janich, Rob Pincus, Mike Seeklander and Michael Bane — decided to come together to help people weather this crisis. Our commitment was always deeply personal; deeply honored that TBD saved lives. We are here to help.

Meditations on Mindset in a Plague Year

  1. As I listen to your talks (which I enjoy a lot) …. I wonder what positive things come from all of this? How many lives are saved by what we have learned? An example might be a change in vehicle deaths (fewer) based on fewer miles driven ? Or, were there fewer flu deaths because of the things we are applying in the simple cleaning of our hands ?? And were we well enough prepared ? What else ?

  2. You folks did an outstanding presentation. As a retired emergency room RN I learned a lot of things that I can use in our day to day lives during this event. A strange thing my wife just told the story of two individuals in a verbal over all things TOILET PAPER and one pulled a gun in Walmart! Again directly related to comments made. And you have made me feel like I am doing something during this event, that something is information to improve my life and the safety of those around me.

  3. This is for Mike Seeklander. Mike, in the episode three you mentioned an issue you had between you and your wife concerning the fact that you were going through each day with a normal routine and she could not. You triggered in my mind that Hey, my wife is going through the same thing. She has been through a number of surgeries over the last 3 years from retinal detachments to knee replacements and I am not letting her go out in the world. I do all the shopping. Thank you for your comment. It is going to make a big difference in our lives.

    Be safe and healthy,
