So, to tell you the truth I almost just quietly deleted the little dab that was in there and forgot it..  it bothered the hell out of me to go ahead and post that request. (went against everything that I am all about as a matter of fact.)
But a very good friend of mine( retired undercover cop) had read the posts...... and he called me.. He scolded me for being stupid and posting something like that and ..after talking to him .. I decided to make sure everyone else "thought " before they got 'way out there" with their emotions. I deleted the "dab"..and wrote my post.

Bingo. The pieces fall into place. You got a midnight call from Officer Friendly at JBT.gov.  And you blinked.

Thank God you did not do something really crazy like buy ammunition in a State that has no ammunition purchase laws.

Let me guess, is this one of those retired New York City Cops who appear on talking head programs everywhere to 'splain things to the great unwashed Dumb Masses?  You would not want to end up in their computer or anything.

Next time you have a chance to talk to your retired undercover friend ask a simple question:

Has ANY jurisdiction, any where, opened a file on Jesse Jackson's threat to harm a current Presidential Candidate?

Does your friend spend ANY time at all on Democrat Underground or the Huffington Post or any other of the thousand  Fabian Socialist Websites
where "adovocating violence" or making "racially charged" posts is a way of life?

Kafkaesque-

"Kafkaesque" is an auctorial descriptive which is used to describe concepts, situations, and ideas which are reminiscent of the literary work of Prague writer Franz Kafka, particularly his novels The Trial and The Metamorphosis.

The term, which is quite fluid in definition, has also been described as "marked by a senseless, disorienting, often menacing complexity: Kafkaesque bureaucracies" and "marked by surreal distortion and often a sense of impending danger: Kafkaesque fantasies of the impassive interrogation, the false trial, the confiscated passport ... haunt his innocence" — The New Yorker.

It can also describe an intentional distortion of reality by powerful but anonymous bureaucrats. "Lack of evidence is treated as a pesky inconvenience, to be circumvented by such Kafkaesque means as depositing unproven allegations into sealed files ..." Another definition would be an existentialist state of ever-elusive freedom while existing under unmitigatable control.

The adjective refers to anything suggestive of Kafka, especially his nightmarish type of narration, in which characters lack a clear course of action, the ability to see beyond immediate events, and the possibility of escape. The term's meaning has transcended the literary realm to apply to real-life occurrences and situations that are incomprehensibly complex, bizarre, or illogical.

John Jacob- I dont know you and all of your posts have been cool, but I really do not like the fact that you are jumping on M'Ette for just telling everyone to be mindful cause she believes she crossed a line, not knowing till later, cause she was caught up in the moment. I take her advice with much respect from someone that has considerable more knowledge than me. You can write what ever you want, but she just wanted to put out there she made a mistake, and to have other people on here be mindful of what is said so that gun owners do not get targeted for more slander by media and society. We are going into a time where any bit of negativity could help the cause of losing something near and dear to all of us. That is all I have to say. M'Ette is one the kindest, goodhearted, most beautiful woman I have had the oppertunity of meeting and will defend her with my life if that situation should ever arise. And in this instance I believe she was trying to protect us all from ourselves. I never read the post but have a good idea of what it said. And she is right to have written this post for the future of us and this website.

John, Now I see how you manage to find stuff to blog about, you are making a mountain range out of a single mole hill and you are so blinded by your own sense of paranoia that you STILL don't get it when it is explained to you. M'ette did not even use any big words. She made a post and I expanded on a theme that should something bad happen could in hindsight be taken as encouraging political violence against a specific person, a FRIEND of hers gave her some FRIENDLY advice. I don't know you, except by your posts. If I posted that we should just take what we need then you committed a robbery and cited my post as your inspiration it would cause me and the website legal and PR problems that we just don't need to deal with.
As for those a$$holes at the Huffington Post, do you REALLY want to model your behavior on people who's actions fit the definition of insanity ? (Performing an action repeatedly and expecting different results) If you do then I'll take your bet on last years Super Bowl.
Jeez, this thread should have pretty much died after the first few posts, hopefully it will now.

PS for KSail, Thanks for the definition, I've often heard the term, but never saw an exact definition before.

Well said Tom & Kasail.  Well said.

If this thread doesn’t die, it’s likely to migrate into a discussion on the benefits of Thioridazine.

It might if you tell me what that is   ;D

This is what our friend John J has to say about us

Anybody remember Bill Clinton’s pledge to put a 100,000 new cops on the streets of America?

Maybe he did but no one knew exactly what he meant.

Even as we watch the Olympics in our easy chairs, cops and former cops and wannabe cops fan out over the Internet and the countryside communicating their talking points about what constitutes the behaviour of a “Good American”

In the latest example it seems Marshal’ette Halloway, a moderator on the Downrange TV  message boards, got a midnight call from Officer Friendly at JBT.Gov who chastised her for her failings as moderator.

Which, in turn, prompted her to write one of the most Kafkaesque posts I have witnessed in my 10 + years on Internet Message Boards-complete with incoherent code phrases urging us all to
avoid “racially charged” posts and not to “advocate violence” as though some how we all plot and plan to create mayhem at the drop of a hat. ( I thought Democrats already cornered that market anyway.)

Like I said before John, your a paranoid ass, making a big deal about nothing.

Man, I'm glad I stayed out of this one.......wooo haaaa.... ;D

Well, I got a busted watch that's right...twice a day..... 8)
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

Well soldier, the best comment I can make is to remind you we do not "lose" anything we do not give away. You certainly learned that when you took an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.

Your character reference for Mrs. Halloway aside, which I am sure she appreciates, please remember she is an adult with adult responsibilities- one of which is not to reinforce stereotypes of a Right to Keep and Bear Arms Community with a broad brush admonishment to eschew "violence"and "racially charged posts" especially in her capacity as moderator of a high visibility gun forum.

As I stated earlier, if she has some specific action by a specific individual to address she should do so specifically. To blame the many for the actions of a few is not the way of a liberty loving society and I will not silently allow such blame to pass unremarked.

Thank you for your service to our country

Like I said before John, your a paranoid ass, making a big deal about nothing.

Harsh words from my blogger mentor.

Of all the people who visited my blog from Downrange TV only two actually read Mark Penman's Parable of the Good Cop.

Since he is dead, I think he will not mind if I reprint it here:

Bob Franklin was heading into the station p..(mad). He'd had it out with his next-door neighbor the night before, and was still stewing over the incident.

He and Steve used to go to games a lot, and they'd spent plenty of time in fields upstate hunting over the years. That was all history, now.

Steve had gotten pulled over for a minor traffic beef the previous morning, and was unexpectedly told that he had dozens of unpaid parking tickets. The officers couldn't let him go until they got it all straightened out. Steve reluctantly agreed to ride downtown with them, knowing that it was some bullshit glitch.

He sat around on his ass for a couple of hours, but finally, after they'd run his information through the system eight or nine ways, they admitted that they had the wrong guy. Same first and last name, same middle initial, etc. They apologized for the foulup, and drove him back to his car.

He went straight to work, and stayed over to make up for the wasted time.

When he got home, he found that his side door had been bashed-in. Fearing the worst until he found a note from his wife, he then raced downstairs to check out his gun safe. It was ruined. And his prized pair of over-and-unders, the Perazzi and the Browning, were gone.

On the front of what remained of the safe's door was a summons to appear in court. The firearms had been confiscated because he'd failed to re-register them as required under a new law passed a few months before.

So he charged over and confronted Franklin, and the screaming went on for almost an hour. Bob took it stoically, like the professional he prided himself on being. Over and over again, Bob emphasized that Steve should be thanking his lucky stars that the seizure took place under the new rules set down by the embattled Mayor, who wanted to cut down on negative headlines by reducing direct confrontations between the police and voters. Seriously, would Steve have preferred a night raid, with his wife and daughter at home? The Misdirection Detainment program was a perfect way to get at grow lamps, computer hard drives, guns, and the rest without the risk of generating unfortunate accidents. (Bob did not add, "or embarassing video," but WebCams were becoming extremely popular home appliances, and you never knew where they could be hidden.) Finally, exhausted and shaky, his neighbor went home.

Bob had gone on his share of raids in the old days, and still had nightmares about the old hillbilly bat who thought that she should've been able to keep her beat Remington slide-action .22 in her kitchen cabinet because her Daddy had always done it that way back on the farm. Bob froze on the trigger when she started yanking the rifle out, but Phillips dumped half a magazine from his MP5 into her, knocking her out of her wig.

After four or five shots of bourbon at the cop bar by the precinct house, after the back-slappers finished sharing in his new celebrity and went away, Bob got the chance to ask Phillips why he'd been so cool under stress.

"Well, Linda's coming up due with another boy, and my first kid is already seeing the orthodontist. You're a single guy, so you probably stopped listening after hearing that Compliance Patrol gets you a fatter paycheck -- but they also bump the caps on your Health bennies way up.

"I guess I can kinda feel a little sorry for the b...(witch), 'cause maybe she didn't know the drill. But I can't afford to get put back on wuss duty.

"If we'd left her standing after she pointed a gun at us, there woulda been hell to pay. Like they keep saying, the Patrol can't work if we let perps f...(mess)  with us." Bob nodded, and had another drink.

At least all that was behind him now. Eighteen months back during a porn sweep, which were conducted hot and heavy for a while after Hatch got elected in '04, one of his fellow officers caught a glimpse of him down through the banister on a staircase. Mistaking Franklin's black Nomex balaclava for nappy hair, the guy let off a 12-gauge slug which wrecked Bob's left shoulder and clavicle without even penetrating his Kevlar vest. Two inches or so to the right and he would have been cored like an apple.

When he got out of the hospital, the department found him a new assignment. The chief always joked that Bob was built like a gorilla -- from the massive shoulders to hands that looked like bunches of bananas to the stumpy legs -- so they had him help keep prisoners in line. Brief but convincing physical intimidation right up front really cut down on doubletalk and acting-out.

After checking with the guy at the front desk, Bob walked to the back of the building, negotiated three pairs of gates, pushed through the big swinging doors, and looked around. It was going to be a long one. Small rolling protests over the Colombian War had been flaring up again, and several vanloads of college kids and Presbyterians and old hippies had to be inspected for contraband as the last step in their processing. Dozens of 'em were cable-tied face down on gurneys, half-naked.

Bob "Fickle Finger" Franklin slipped the first of what would be many latex gloves over his right hand, and bent down to his work.
