9V battery LED attachment
« on: August 22, 2010, 10:00:19 PM »
I know I've seen these things for sale, a small 2 or 3 LED unit that affixes directly to a 9V battery making a small flashlight using the battery as the handhold.........anyone know who makes them?
Best Wishes, Mike.

Thank you Mr.Suave, they all seem to be around the $12 - $15 mark delivered which is a little (OK, a lot) higher than I expected for leaving around the house during power outages .......maybe I can negotiate a bulk discount  :P
Best Wishes, Mike.

There is a cheaper on out there I just can't find my link to it.   It basically clips on the top of the 9v and has no switch.

There are tons of articles on how to build you own if you google LED FLASHLIGHT 9V BUILD.....

FOUND IT.       Illumineering

http://www.nifty-gadgets.com/products.htm

SNAP ITs and BLINK ITs....No switch just plug them in.

These are designed for theatres to use as markers for dancers and actors.   Typically several of these would be placed on the edge of the stage pointing upstage.  This gives the actors a beacon so they know where the edge is when facing the bright lights.   Also denotes center-line and quarter line as well.

Here's also one made using a 2032 in stead of a 9v.

These are still $10ea 'cause they're "professional" grage.   It's still cheaper to make your own.  Rip the top out of a used 9v and solder an LED and a resistor to the back side.  Plug in and ----- light.    Have made dozens for local dance companies.    Runs about $1 in parts.
