...After the shooting, and why....

Great Episode on what to do immediately following a self defense shooting.  Here's more Great Advise....

I know these videos are lengthy, but well worth the education.  Hope this enlightens those feeling the need to talk to LEO's and give up their right to silence.  Telling your side of the story to anyone other than your lawyer, cannot help you.

During a deadly encounter, you want to try and contact 911. If not possible, then immediately following the incident. If no cell phone, try and get to a phone. If you are alone, hurt, and unable to get to a phone, then you need to tend to your injuries first, and save your life if possible, and then try to get help.  Always try to call 911 yourself.  Telling a witness to "call for help", may not be in your best interests.  You have inadvertantly scared the hell out of them, and they are anti-gun, or other.  How would you know?  Maybe they have associations with your attacker.  They're going to tell 911 a different story than the one you would.

But for example's sake, you are ok, and "you" have made contact with 911. At this point you need to:

1-Give your name
2-Give your location
3-Advise 911 that there has been a shooting and to send help.
4-Don't incriminate yourself. They're sending help, "well... the police anyways" not your lawyer!
5-Describe to 911 what you are wearing....shirt, coat, blue jeans, hat, ect....so LEO's know you are the victim.
6-Tell 911 you have holstered your weapon. Do not unload it. Your danger of others may still exist.
7-Tell 911 you wish to stay on the line with her until the Police have arrived.
8-Once the police arrive, keep your hands up over your head and remain that way until they instruct you to do otherwise.
9-Tell responding LEO's you are CHL, that your firearm is still loaded, and where it is concealed on your person.
10-Keep your mouth shut until your lawyer can speak to law enforcement for you.

Calling 911 is your first responsibility as a legally armed citizen.  Why is it your responsibility, you ask?  911 dispatchers are going to ask you questions about your emergency.  Are you ok?  Is your attacker dead, or do you need an ambulance there?  Is there anyone there with you?

Remember, everything you have done or said up to this point, LEO's have on tape that can be used against you.  If your attacker is alive and you don't have an ambulance dispatched; you could face other legal problems.  Especially, if there are witnesses at the scene.  Dead persons may not tell tales, but witnesses do.  Perhaps you've put your attacker down, and they are still alive.

At this point, the use of deadly force is no longer needed.  If you've taken the fight out of them, and you can administer first aid to your attacker to save their life until help arrives, do so.  Tell 911 you have eliminated the threat of deadly force against you, and you are administering first aid to your attacker if your attacker allows it.  Otherwise, advise 911 that your attacker will not allow you to administer first aid, and that you must remain at a safe distance from them until help arrives.  "Please hurry".  Your a legally armed citizen, and a human being.  Don't let your emotions keep you from doing what is RIGHT.  This is what separates us from the animals, and the criminals.  Your lawyer can handle your legalities later.

This is serious sh*t your dealing with now!  Your actions ,or lack there of; may help or hurt you if you don't have a plan to begin with.

"Anything you say, can, and will be used against you in court" Believe it! You'll probably be detained, maybe even arrested. Don't freak out! Cops will try to get you talk. It's there job to gather any information they can. Whether it be in your favor, or not. Remember, your the victim. You did everything right; the way you learned them. Your a legal right-to-carry citizen, who just protected himself with the use of deadly force.

Don't talk to the police. Or anyone else, including family members, over the phone. Don't fall for their bullshit threats, and lies to coerce you into talking to them. You have rights. One of them is to remain silent. Use it! Wait for your lawyer to get there.
