I appreciate the link, but it's just another too to buy to use the moon clips.
Does anyone have any load data for .45 auto rim using Unique?
So evidently there may not be anyone here who has actual reloading experience with the .45AR, but to keep your thread active, and if you don't mind the slight drift:So I read up on the 45AR. Early revolvers experienced some gas cutting so the official SAAMI specs call for 15,000PSI. While the auto is 21,000. That problem is pretty much in the past and no one seems concerned, so some of the reloading manuals just show reloading data for 21,0000PSI the same as 45ACP loads.
That said, the other differences are:
- Revolvers typically have a longer throat so short bearing bullets may keyhole slightly.
- Since headspace is on the rim, roll crimps can be used.
- Overall length (COAL) can be longer (limited by cylinder length) which means you can adjust case capacity. Of course you reduce the jump to forcing cone.
