Tikka answer to Ruger Scout
« on: August 08, 2014, 04:27:46 PM »
After have weaved all over the place, I've decide, in my advance super senior age bracket, that I need to simplify and limit my collection.

In bolt action I have a Mosin-Nagant, a 7mm mauser and a 7mm Ruger and a Tikka in .338 Fed.  I've decided to sell all of them and get one good .308.

I'm not sold on the "Scout" concept.  More of a "conventional" design (scope over action) person myself.   Ah-ha.  Tikka has announced a CTR short bolt action tactical style rifle.

As much as I encourage everyone to go with guns that have commonly available magazines, I'll eat my words here.

I really love the feel of my .338 Tikka Lite.  Excellent trigger.  Sturdy and well made.  I'm thinking this is my .308.     For those who want a convention scope mount in a tactical style .308, this may be the ticket.  (I KNOW I KNOW.  I'm living on the edge.   A newly introduce rifle.   Limited availability.)

Now all I got to do is sell all the others.

Selling a gun is always bad.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

You have 2 kidneys and only really need one.  ;)
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

You know you can mount a conventional scope on the GSR?
That Tikka is nice looking, though.

I was looking at Blaser's website today.  Wow, those are pretty!  Fortunately it costs nothing to look.

I'm looking for a new hunting rifle and this is on my list.

I'm with Tab, I'd never sell a gun unless I really had too, not even the Mosin or cheap Chinese SKS I bought when I was in college.

I like my Tikka, but Savage is still my go to for overall value.  Out of the box accuracy, dependability, and a price that is affordable.

The Savage Hog Hunter looks good, as does the Blazer, but the Tikka has detachable magazine.   Closer to the "Scout" concept, just with scope-over-action rails.
