Two Two Three Innovations Gas Block Genie

$14.99 is a lot for a $2 piece of plastic but I ordered one of these on sale for $12.99 from PSA today. They come in .625" for A1 barrels, .750" for A2 and most other barrels, and .936" for bull barrels. I don't know if that would squeeze down to work on a .875" barrel, but I don't think many people use those on AR-15s. On AR-10s a lot more often, I'd guess. From everything I've seen you DON'T need to have the gas block forward of the shoulder on the barrel, the thickness of the handguard cap. The hole in the gas block is big enough that it doesn't matter. But, why take a chance when this tool makes it so easy to line it up right, without a cap on the barrel, or holding a shim of the same thickness? Also, when I talked to one of the companies that makes AR-15 parts, they said barrels DON'T need to be dimpled for set screws. I can check my email to see who it was if anyone wants to know. I'll be using green Loctite for um-threaded sleeves when I put mine on, and heating it up with a heat gun to activate the Loctite. I'll use Loctite on all 3 set screws too, and it will never come apart unless I heat it up with a torch.

""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington.
