Vietnam

General Giap was leader of the North Vietnamese Army.

The following quote is from his memoirs currently found in the Vietnam war memorial in Hanoi :

"What we still don't understand is why you Americans stopped the bombing of Hanoi You had us on the ropes. If you had pressed us a little harder, just for another day or two, we were ready to surrender! It was the same at the battles of TET. You defeated us! We knew it, and we thought you knew it. But we were elated to notice your media was definitely helping us. They were causing more disruption in America than we could in the battlefields. We were ready to surrender. You had won!"
General Giap has published his memoirs and confirmed what most Americans knew. The Vietnam war was not lost in Vietnam -- it was lost at home. The exact same slippery slope, sponsored by the US media, is currently well underway in regards to the War on Terror and the conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan . Giap's writings expose the enormous power of a biased media to cut out the heart and will of the American people.

A truism worthy of note:
Do not fear the enemy, for they can take only your life.
Fear the media far more, for they will destroy your honor.

To true, I saw a guy with a tee shirt that said," We were winning when I left"  Just shows what democrats get you, in Korea, Truman snatched stalemate from the jaws of victory, The lieing socialist media caused us to hand Veitnam to the communists, and lo and behold the "dominoe theory" prooved true, now in Iraq we are seeing the same treason by our msm. Everything wrong in the world is Americas fault, just ask a "liberal". They embrace only the "diversity" that agrees with their anti American agenda. Well I'm going out to by some rope because I have an agenda too. Any body got large strong trees in their yard ?

Comments accredited to Gen. Giap would carry more weight if they were something other than an Urban Legend.  There are no parallels between VietNam and the war on terror or the Invasion of Iraq.  We were engaged in war in Southeast Asia for entirely different reasons than our invasion Of Iraq.

Been there done that --- US Army ViteNam  7/66 - 7/67, and yes we were winning on the battlefield and yes North Vietnam knew they could not defeat us on the battlefield, that is why they were committed to a war of attritution they knew the American people would not tolerate.

To draw one conclusion, how much happier will UBL and the rest of the terrorists be if Hillary or Obama win POTUS?

I at least don't want to make their day...
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
