Prayer For The West Virginia Coal Miners
« on: April 05, 2010, 09:16:50 PM »
7 Fatalities, 19 Unaccounted for, in a tragic WV coal mining accident.

Just some prayers for them and their families.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Now up to 25 killed, 4 missing.

Sad day for all in WV.

Our prayers are with the men and their families.

It's always been the kind of job you can make safer but can never make safe.

May God bless all the men (and women) who go down in the mines.  And may God be with the families of all those who don't come back up from the bowels of the earth.

Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

All my ale relatives on my Moms' side were coal miners.  Went down in one myself when I was a kid.  Scary, dark, dirty, dangerous place.

My thoughts and prayers are with the miners and their families.

My dad was a coal miner for 40 years or more. I always thought he would die in the mines but he finally retired this year. He had a few close calls but managed to get through.

I think he would go back to work if my mom wouldn't kill him herself.
