Take that Al, BO and Governor Scott. Sometimes Florida can get things right.

Next up a civil suit and I wonder how many drunks out there are going to "voice" their disapproval.

The comments on CNN are racking up quicker than popcorn and I just saw a commercial for getting your concealed weapon permit in Ft. Myers on the news between coverage of the Zimmerman story.

Actually not in Florida. Most states there would be. In Florida, if there is a ruling of SD, which this acquittal means, then the victim's family can't sue (not that Zimmerman will have two nickels left after paying for his defense).

I thought that only worked if it was a "Stand your ground/castle doctrine" defense.  It was already decided that this case would not involve the stand your ground defense.

I'm not a lawyer, but the only way out of a manslaughter charge is the jury finds that it was justifiable homicide, in this case that means SD as no one argued that it was an accident. The special prosecutor, appointed by our beloved governor Voldemort under political pressure, might not have thought that the castle doctrine applied, but the jury did. That OUGHT to be binding.

Same in AZ.
I wonder just how much this did cost GZ in legal fees
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

I know my stepfather, not exactly a high priced lawyer, maybe $300 per hour, wouldn't touch a criminal case for less than 20K up front. And with all the BS surrounding this one it was probably a lot more. OTOH, the lawyer might have given Zimmerman a break, as now that he's won something this high profile and with the deck stacked against him, he can charge a lot more.

What's the Over/Under on how long it takes Holder to start putting the screws to GZ?
I'm thinking maybe 5 days....
