OOOOHHHH...45-70!
I want a Remington SPR double rifle in 45-70!
My dad has a Sharps 45-70, it is so much fun to shoot. And it obliterates anything it hits.

A couple of years back, Sheriff Jim Wilson wrote an article for Shooting Times about the gun he might choose if he were limited to just one. It came to him choosing a medium frame .357 magnum, ultimately because of it versatility. I thought his reasoning was pretty sound and being that my first gun was a 6-inch 686 that I got for graduation, I'd be pretty content with the .357Mag. The article was great, being that it was one of the BS subjects that any of us would want to discuss over a campfire.

It does make me cringe a little to pick just one caliber or gun.

My favorite handgun round is 45 acp. Feels good shooting it and it's a nice looking little round.

Pretty much sums it up for me too.........For handgun rounds, I love the .45 ACP.   ;)

Of course, I like shooting any other caliber/round I can.....but I always go back to JMB's little thumper.

As for rifle rounds, I love my 30-06....but I am really warming up to my .308.

Hell, I love them ALL....let's go shootin'.....     8)

I voted 5.56 from the list but it is hardly my favorite round, that is what I shoot most.  Tried the 7.62X39, got rid of it very quickly, boring rifle and round, same for 9mm.  Love the 45ACP.  For rifle, I'll take .308 and pistol, toss-up between 357 and 45ACP.
