I hate daylight savings time and having to change every clock I have twice a year. My uncles who lived on a farm didn't change their clocks. The cows didn't care what time it was anyway. When I was working I swear daylight savings time gave me a jet lag effect for a couple of days. It was harder to get my 5 hours of sleep until I got used to it.

"DST can affect both your body clock and health. Studies show that there is an increase in both heart attacks and road accidents in the days after clocks are set forward 1 hour in spring."

Arizona doesn't do DST.

And they have open carry.

And they have really great Mexican food places.

If it wasn't for the heat, I'd be living there, now.

I know some of you are going to say, "But Florida is hot, too."

And you're right.  Florida IS hot, too.

But not 112 degrees hot.

And not so hot it melts your steering wheel.  And not so hot that you need to sit IN your refrigerator to enjoy a cold one.  And not so hot your dog's paws will blister if the poor guy tries to walk on the asphalt.  And not so hot...  well you get the picture.

And, that's enough thread drift for now.

Daylight Saving Time sucks.

Florida is hot AND humid.

Arizona is not humid, so the heat is often more bearable.

Of course it can also be deadly if you don't have an adequate water supply handy.

I'm always up late and usually sleep a lot so I nearly always get up late, but today I shut off my alarm and didn't get up until the middle of the afternoon. I'm not blaming DST but maybe I would have slept an hour less if I didn't just change the clocks. Maybe not. It's a rare occasion that I get up that late and I hope to do better tomorrow.

Fortunately for me we're winding down the company after selling the assets so I paraded into work at my "normal time" which was an hour late after the change.

I dislike AZ heat,  "BUT IT'S A DRY HEAT"  I don't care.

I went to VoTech in Glendale AZ.  I spent my birthday in the apartment when it was 110 outside, the wind was blowing sand under the door, and the AC can only cool it down to 85.  My mom called to wish me happy birthday, and she reminded me it was "dry heat"  Have you ever stuck your head in an oven - THAT'S DRY HEAT TOO!

Well folks, it's that time of year again. Time for most of us to set our clocks to the wrong time for 34 weeks straight. There are only 18 weeks out of the whole year our clocks show the real time. Why not make them daylight saving time too? Just tell people to show up for work an hour early. GM used to do it all the time whether it was daylight saving time or not. It really sucked when we had to start an hour early AND it was daylight saving time. We had to go to work 2 hours early when the clock said it was only 1 hour early.
