1911 Anniversary
« on: October 17, 2009, 04:40:41 PM »
With the 100 year anniversary of the 1911 a few months away, I was wondering if anyone has plans for any anniversary models.  What kind of things would everyone like to see on an anniversary model?  Thought it would be fun to hear all the ideas out there.

Interesting, the 25, 50, 75 anniversary's came and went, but something special for 100....
Hmmmmmm...

IMHO, keep it simple. For example,

Mostly to honor what was made 100 years ago, and why it has not really, changed in form and function.

As long as its honoring the 100 year tradition.

Got to keep it real.

and,....my personal favorite, as it's mine,....

Just some porn and thoughts, like looking at a vintage Cadillac, the lines, the distinctiveness..

Just because..

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

They already have a "retro" Model 70.

I think just a few cosmetic changes, offer it in Commander and Government sizes, stamp it "100th Year" would be all it takes.  Maybe a wooden display case or something.  I've owned my Mod 70 close to 40 years...wow!

Will work for ammo
